BLOOMFIELD — A 62-year-old man was beaten with a crowbar by a complete stranger who allegedly took issue with the man's Donald Trump T-shirt, police said Tuesday.
The man was walking on West Passaic Avenue on Wednesday when a man he did not know pulled up in an older gray car, Bloomfield police said.
The driver questioned the 62-year-old about the Donald Trump shirt he was wearing, and then followed him into the parking lot of the Friendly's restaurant on Broad Street, police said. The man then got out of his car with a crowbar, and during an altercation, struck the older man several times, authorities said.
Police said the man believes the T-shirt sparked the initial contact and prompted the altercation. Authorities are investigating.

It is those sweet, tolerant, well educated, love everyone progressives who are only that way if you are in total agreement. Promise you after this election - there will be some attitude adjustments and it won’t be ours.
This certainly is something that is very worrisome. I’m not sure which will be worse a Trump victory or a Trump loss. They will all go nuts if he wins but Trump supporters may be persecuted if he loses. Strange times.
The public hanging of these kind of crimes should be mandatory. See how many times it happens after a few are hung and left to rot in the sun.
