I had glitches everywhere once. 10 days of penicillin took care of it.

I’ll say prayers for all the stuck FReepers.

What a ####ing nightmare.

I dont understand enough to know how you can have glitches everywhere

Could be a fore-shadowing of how the general societal collapse begins to accelerate.

Maybe next are some hydro-electric systems. Petroleum pipe-lines. Electrical grids....

Exactly...redundancy. Such a critical system should never have a "main server," as most business-critical systems would use a distributed architecture. This means they should be able to switch over to a backup system easily.

This seems more insidious, especially coming on the heels of the Southwest Airlines' glitch. Are our airlines and infrastructures being attacked? If so, by whom? Is the FAA investigating this? Is the FBI? Does it even matter to this administration?

I don't understand how there aren't enough walls in a system to prevent one event from taking down a whole system.

I’m wondering. If the systems can be hacked, can the computers that control flight paths while in the air be hijacked? This is curiosity question, having nothing to do with this situation.

“Could be a fore-shadowing of how the general societal collapse begins to accelerate.”

Being force-fed CNN for hours without end, while stuck in an airport, could very well be considered the beginning of the end...

Probably comes down to $$$

Pay now or pay later. If they had a work around they would be up and running as we “type” and no one would be aware of the hit but them.

The main server was under a desk and someone kicked the plug out. They can’t get the hard disk to spin up.

I used to service hubs for Alamo and Fed Ex as a telco tech.
Would need to be a big desk.

Fascinated me very time I would step in the room.

Sorry to hear from a fellow freq flyer. Such joys. I’m sitting on an AA plane as we speak. I heard Delta has old sucky computer systems from one of their employees.
