Ludicrous. Obama cannot cancel the presidential election. Elections are the province ONLY of the individual states.

The president is chosen by the Electoral College, whose members are chosen by 50 State Legislatures under rules they have exclusive authority over (Congress gave itself 3 electoral votes in 1960).
There is no “presidential election” to cancel, not in the sense you mean it.
Not one chance in a million. Remember, we're dealing with Obama here. Obama is a socialist, and he routinely flouts the rule of law.
But he is a lazy, easily-distracted, let's-go-golfing socialist. He doesn't have the temperament for any kind of coup. He's more John Lennon than Vladimir Lenin.
Now, on the other hand, if it were President Hillary...nothing would be off the table.
If Hillary loses, or even if she is forced to drop out and a Democrat replacement is defeated, its hard to imagine Obama willingly “turning over the keys” to Mr. Trump, whom he knows would dismantle and undo his “legacy”. Obama’s ego is simply too big to accept defeat and graciously walk away. No, he would fabricate an excuse or create a crisis to prevent (or at least delay as long as possible) Trump from assuming the presidency.
Who would stop him? Certainly not the Republican controlled congress. Obama has already shown complete disregard for it, the Constitution, and normally accepted political behavior. And we have seen time and again that he pays no attention to the courts. He is king and does whatever he wants. I wouldn’t put it past him to abrogate our time honored election process in favor of engineering an extension of his time in office.
Articles like this only makes our side appear paranoid and irrational.

I don't doubt that Obama would cancel the election if he could, however, I think he's smart enough to know that he could never pull that off. Lincoln could have used the Civil War as an excuse to cancel the election of 1864, but he didn't. Roosevelt could have used World War Two as an excuse to cancel elections, but he didn't. As bad as things are, we are not in as precarious a position as we were during those periods. Cancel the election? No. Rig the election? that's a much more distinct possibility.
I could easily hear Wolf Blitzer and others saying “Today, Presdient Barack Obama has said he plans to postpone the US election from November to March 2017 until the situation has stabilized somewhat. The administration fears that the divisiveness of an election will inflame the country at this crucial time. This gives voters an additional five months to register and allowed the candidates more time to discuss their issues before the voters. More on Wednesday’s attack in [Name a City] after we get back from this break.” Too easily. The media will say ANYTHING the oligarchy wants them to say.
BTW for this traitor to go on the SC I don't see unless he his pal Roberts left the CJ job open. He would NEVER wish to be serving in any diminished role. No, he will have his ugly puss on TV 24/7 trying to run the US from his fawning media. Worse for the country would be Trump winning and him
on TV blasting everything he did. Hopefully when Trump takes over he drafts him as ambassador to Antarctica and has the secret service spirit him off before he has a moment to say a word.
Who would stop him? Hillary. And Bill. They desperately want back in the White House. Hillary believes she has waited long enough, and Obama has no real reason to thwart her. She isn’t going to undo the mess he has made.
The Democrat party also stands to lose were he to do something like this. They want to increase their presence in Congress, and if Obama stops the election, that won’t happen. The voters will be furious and blame them.
In a word, he doesn’t dare. Marcus is usually pretty shrewd. He blew this one.
Hillary
No one would do a thing. But I don’t think Obama would do that. He is already setting up the electoral college to install Hillary. This is evidenced by his creeping “trump is dangerous, unfit, and mentally ill” rhetoric.
Only one way to find out - may God relieve us of that burden.
He doesn’t need to ‘cancel’ the election. He just needs to find a way to “extend” his term. Just a “temporary measure” of course, and all in name of “maintaining national stability in this time of unprecedented crisis”.
Remember, this is the same man who wants to give the UN power to terminate our nuclear testing.
