Ted Cruzs next presidential campaign is off to a rocky start. The 2016 Republican runner-up, who has made little effort to mask his intention to run again in 2020, believed he was standing on principle and protecting and promoting his brand when he refused to endorse Donald Trump in his July 20 address to the GOP convention.

Remember all kerfuffle about Trump not signing the pledge to support the GOP nominee. Looks like almost everyone else who made a big deal has broken their pledge. Cruz coulda been a contender.

Not everyone lied as much as Oswald Cruz
or spent time with Obama just before the convention.
Just before, getting his speech vetted by Val.

I got a fairly desperate fundraising letter from National Review this weekend, too.
I told them they would need to fire Jason Steorts (Editor of NRO) to get a dime from me. He evidently kicked Mark Steyn out as a contributor.

A man of honor and conscience who is genuinely opposed to Trump and what he represents does NOT accept an invitation to speak at his nomination convention and then backstab him.
A man of honor and conscience would have declined with an explanation of why. There is no honor with Ted Cruz IMO.

Remember when some of us warned that National Review and the other GOPe were supporting Cruz only long enough to stop Trump and they would ditch him the moment they got rid of Trump?
Here is good evidence.

LOL Cruzlamic State 2020 - we haven’t pissed off everyone yet!
To: Gaffer
He went to Donald’s party, ate the food, drank the wine, & pissed on carpet.
He could have called a press conference and said what he said. Instead he tried to take over the party.

The Cruznadian has SERIOUSLY bad judgment...

Well, as far as I’m concerned he’s now a problem for the citizens of Texas to decide. I certainly know I wouldn’t consider him for anything at the national level ever again. That ship sailed.

"The 2016 Republican runner-up ... believed he was standing on principle"
This is BS. It's not as much that he refused to endorse Trump as it is that he made a point of the fact he was refusing to support Trump - ie. he rubbed Trump supporters' noses in it with the "vote your conscience" line. I didn't really have any animosity toward him, and possible could have supported him in future endeavors, until he pulled that little stunt.

Does he think I’ll forget this 3.5 years from now? #nevercruz

Cruz is a very smart man, until it comes to dealing with people, and then he shows his utter ignorance.
