How Tim Kaine’s Record on Guns Helps With Women Voters
Time Magazine ^ | July 23, 2016 | Philip Elliott

Posted on 07/24/2016 6:47:48 AM PDT by Zakeet

When Hillary Clinton introduced her running mate to the nation, it was remarkable what topic got the crowd most excited: gun rights. Just the mention of the National Rifle Association Saturday prompted the room in Miami into a roar.

At Brooklyn headquarters, aides smiled.

This was, after all, the fight they wanted. Please, some thought, keep talking about guns. It was a fight that strategists saw as an upside: it calmed progressives’ furor over Kaine, seen in some circles as too moderate for a party still overcoming a passionate swoon with Bernie Sanders. And the subject of guns has a proven appeal for a crucial Clinton voting blocs, especially suburban women, who have shown themselves to be lukewarm on some of her other proposals.

"Tim has a backbone of steel. Just ask the NRA. Over and over again he has had the courage to stand up to the Gun Lobby in their own backyard," Clinton said on Saturday afternoon. "He has fought for common sense gun reform."

[Snip]

People close to Kaine say he has long opposed free-for-all guns. He's no absolutist on the Second Amendment—in either direction—but he has throughout his career said common sense has a place in interpreting the nation’s founding document, which was created in an era of muskets and bayonets.

The problem with “common sense” gun control is, the left wants to define what “common sense” is, with no input from anyone else.

Yeah, you go ahead and base your campaign on gun bans.

"How Tim Kaine’s Record on Guns Helps With Women Voters"

Sounds like a lot of pathetically wishful thinking to me.

Yep - they seem to have missed that during Obama's reign of attacks on the 2nd Amendment, women have engaged more than any other time - not to mention LGBTQ folks who have traditionally backed more gun control.

Priceless!

I remember the other day bringing my car in to have the oil changed and the TV in the customer waiting room was tuned to CBC Newsworld. They were interviewing a Democrat woman at the convention and they soon began talking about guns and the NRA. Almost immediately, I was sickened by the things said and had to leave that area and go walk around the dealership lot until my car was ready (I was very tempted to politely ask to change the channel but did not want to cause a scene).

Anti 2A women were going to vote for Hillary anyway.

I think one of the most powerful political things an individual can do is bring their non-shooting friends to the range, and get them into shooting sports. Guns are fun, they make a lot of noise, and once you learn the basics, they are not very scary. Guns teach you responsibility and self reliance on a very basic level.

Get a Democrat into shooting, and you are well on your way to creating a new Republican. That vote counts twice. One less for them and one more for us.

So get your Democrat friends to the range, at least three times between now and November. The money you spend will be a lot more effective than writing another check to the RNC.

I remember a thick TIME MAGAZINE from over forty five years ago whose cover was screaming for gun laws, then there was the TIME magazine from about twenty years ago doing the same screaming.

Now when I go to the Doctor’s office I find a very thin TIME magazine screaming for more gun laws, just a cover and a few advertisement pages. Nothing of substance anymore.

It is like TIME is withering away.

There is a reason Kreepy Kaine wants women to be disarmed.

“Women driving up gun sales in Virginia”
by Jenny Doren
Friday, August 10th 2012

http://wjla.com/news/local/women-driving-up-gun-sales-in-virginia-78674

This was in the wake of the repeal of Virginia’s one handgun per month law.

Just ponder on that for a second....women started buying more guns when they were allowed to purchase more than one a month...no more of the thirty day wait to buy additional handguns...

Ain’t America grand!

Yeah, you go ahead and base your campaign on gun bans.

Between this and booking BLM for a speaking slot at the convention, I have no idea what Hillary is trying to do here. Her's might be the most tone-deaf campaign Democrats have ever ran.

How on earth does Tim Kaine help her with women voters? Is there a single woman in America saying, "I was going to vote for Donald Trump but Tim Kaine's steadfast opposition to the NRA has convinced me to vote for Hillary Clinton..."?

And BLM? Really? She already has the black vote shored up.

What she's doing is sending white voters fleeing. She's destroying the Obama Coalition that requires at least a certain minority of white voters. She's going to lose the Rust Belt.

At least we won't have to see photo-ops of Hillary Clinton outfitted for duck hunting and talking about our Second Amendment tradition like every other gun-grabbing Democrat that runs for President.

“.....the nation’s founding document, which was created in an era of muskets and bayonets.”

___________________________________________________________

And muskets and bayonets was all that the new, tiny government had available at the time, too.

Let me know when the FBI, BATF, DEA, and all the other endless armed government agencies go back to muskets and bayonets, as well as the police departments, Time “magazine.”

The problem is, the left doesn’t have any common sense.
