Donald Trump’s dark speech to the Republican National Convention, annotated
The Ministry of Propaganda, AKA the Washington Post-Turtle ^ | July 21 at 6:40 PM | By Philip Bump and Aaron Blake

Posted on 07/21/2016 7:55:59 PM PDT by Lazamataz

Below are Donald Trump's remarks accepting the Republican nomination as delivered. Where text is in bolded, it denotes a place where Trump's comment deviated from the original draft that leaked to the press.

Friends, delegates and fellow Americans: I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States.

USA! USA!

Who would have believed that when we started this journey on June 16th of last year we – and I say “we” because we are a team – would have received almost 14 million votes, the most in the history of the Republican Party, and that the Republican Party would get 60 percent more votes than it received four years ago.

The Democrats, on the other hand, received almost 20 percent fewer votes than they got four years ago.

Don't bother going to the link. The headline says it all. It's pure propaganda. It's all pure BS.

What a hideously, purely-evil group the Washington Post has become.

I suggest that Trump needs to vociferously and pointedly attack those who lie outright and call it news. First Amendment does not cover lies and propaganda.

First Amendment does not cover lies and propaganda.

Yes it does. Your statement suggests that the government should be able to censor and prosecute those who publish the Washington Post.

The way to deal with lies and propaganda is with truth and its dissemination.

No, it doesn’t. Slander laws. And while the restriction against domestic propaganda has been lifted, it should be restored.

Something has to be done to counter an utterly out-of-control media.

Slander laws.

Yes, slander against private citizens should be actionable in civil law suits. But not against public figures, because that is a slippery slope down which we dare not go.

One man's propaganda is another man's advertising campaign. I don't want OBama's government to have the power to go there. We've already seen the DOJ try to go after companies for disagreeing with climate change.

Dark speech?

This is a news story.

They’ve jettisoned any attempt at pretending to be non-partisan.

We always knew it, but they get more crass with every day.

It’s like, every ‘news outlet’ competes with the next one to be more outrageously biased.
