Just so you know, federal law no longer has any meaning or value to me.

If Hillary Clinton is above federal law, so is everyone and everything else.

Do you grow your own? Or are you funding the cartels by purchasing the stuff produced by the cartels and smuggled into the US by illegal aliens? (Cartels “hire” illegal aliens to act as mules therefore this supports illegal aliens).

“Coloradans will need whatever extra taxes they get for medical expenses for the treatment of addicts down the road.”

From my own 22+ years sober, I do not find MJ to be particularly a big worry, alongside alcohol and narcotic pain meds which are readily available.

I frequent an AA meeting hall, and there is a legal MJ dispensary in the center, as well.

Comparing the two profiles of visitors, the MJ customers appear to me more prosperous, better behaved.

My friends live in Colorado and they are cops and said it’s been a dream they have less crime less problems and glad it’s legal...

That is true beyond doubt.

Our upcoming loosing of our rape laws will make things even easier for cops, which of course is the goal.

The study is worthless.

“leads to a lifestyle that is reduced from what it would have been.”

Let me ask you, Balding_Eagle, what if a soul was sent to this world in order to specifically battle with the demon of addiction?

What if that soul’s lifestyle is what it was intended to be, and “what it would have been” doesn’t even matter, because it was never going to be without a successful defeat of that demon?

What if that soul, who defeated that demon successfully, is then able to help and advise other souls involved in the same battle?

What if that is what his lifestyle was intended to be all along?

None of us are privy to the information as to exactly why we are here or what we are supposed to do while we are here.

We have many differing purposes. Some of our purposes are to learn and know about addiction.

No law is going to change that.

Would it bother you that Patrick might get “psychologically addicted” to pot as he wastes away from cancer? You worried that he might like it and do it a 2nd time? or a 40th time?

You sure had to reach for an example, didn't you?

Should we upset the whole of society just because we find two men who can happily marry and raise a family?

I don’t do drugs anymore.

And I was never addicted to marijuana.

I was addicted to Xanax.

There is my answer to your condescending question. You should contemplate it before you ask your next.

I understand your point.

Don’t stop there; don’t pay your taxes and dare the IRS to come after you, rob a bank and dare the FBI to come after you, you know, violate federal laws and get in their face, that is civil disobedience—violating the law and being willing to stand up and take it when the hammer comes down.

Cheers.

Of course no law is going to change that.

Nor will it change attitudes on abortion.

By the way, what is your view on the abortion laws?

47% of the population will not do any research on political candidates or examine the past record of political candidates, but will just go into the voting booth and pull the switch for anyone with a “(D)” behind their name.

It’s like they’re stoned or something.

There’s a cause-and-effect in there somewhere.

Condescending?

Nope.

You never answered the question regarding where you got your marijuana.

Have a nice laid-back ‘dude’ day.

No, I didn’t reach at all.

I watched him and admired him as an actor while I was growing up, and I am aware of how his life ended.

So what are you telling me? We should tell Patrick that he should waste and starve and suffer until he dies rather than smoking a joint, because his smoking a joint will upset the whole of society?

If society is that fragile, it isn’t going to last anyway.

I do what I believe is right, and I do not follow a second set of law that my greaters (lessers) are not held to account to.

If that means I do prison time at some point in my life, then that’s what it means.

Jesus Christ guides me in this world, not the laws of Washington criminals.

What I am telling you should be so blatantly obvious that I shouldn’t have to point it out, but I obviously need to.

Just because a very few people use MJ, or any other substance, does that mean we should tip everything upside down to accommodate them? The answer is no.

That’s what I’m telling you.

What happened the ‘medical marijuana’ thing?

Oh, as all of us knew, that was simply a ‘gateway’ law.

This thread is not about that, but if you want to know, I am pro-life, but at the same time I also believe that the practice of abortion is never going to be stopped.

That genie isn’t going back in its bottle.

I didn’t ask you about your views on abortion.

I asked you about your views on the abortion laws, and whether or not they are needed.

I’m not sure why you want to know where I got the MJ I’ve smoked in my life.

The first of it, when I was 16, came from some dudes down the street. The LSD came from there too.

After that, my dad introduced me to his dealer, Mark. My dad said if I wanted to smoke, he wanted to make sure that I wasn’t getting ripped. My dad was a hippie, mark was a communist. Nice man, but a communist for sure. He got his weed from Mexico, no doubt it was a cartel connection.

After that, I started smoking high grade stuff only. I got that from a lovely girl named Shelley. I’m not sure where she got it, but it was mailed to her from various places.

After Katrina hit New Orleans, I moved to Florida and stopped doing all drugs, and decided to make a new start in life.

Incidentally, I didn’t suffer any marijuana withdrawal symptoms, but I did suffer some Xanax withdrawl symptoms.

I hope this information helps you formulate some sort of slick insult to me, dude.
