I remember reading something about how the Bush family actually allowed the departure of the Bin Laden Family from the US very shortly after 9-11, like within a couple of days.

So I did a quick search, a came up with these results:

It’s jawdropping.

Ma and pa seem like such down home folk.

Hundreds of thousands of lives destroyed and trillions spent to basically let the muslim hordes loose, which lead to obama and the arab spring.

If the aim was to secure a base in Iraq, it failed. Obummer is responsible for a lot of trouble when he pulled all of the troops out. No doubt.

But they’re were going to be constant attacks on US Troops by suicide bombers and other nuts.

I know saddam supported terror to an extent, but he also squashed any fanatics.

He was a 2 cent dictator.

“If Saudi Arabia objects or hinder this - carpet bomb them.”

Better still, have all those fat rug riders over for dinner and have Polonium on the menu. Having the “royal family” all die a slow aggonizing death would bring us a modicum of satisfaction that justice has been done.

“President Bush. What did he know and when did he know it?”

Pi$$ on that worthless bastard. He was in the tank for the Saudi’s from day one. I rue the two times I voted for him!

“if Bush had really been serious about attacking jihad terror at its root, he would have invaded Saudi Arabia and Iran instead.”

Ya think? But think of all those petrodollars that would not have lined his family’s pockets.

I see a totally wasted period of war, with human lives lost, because of a Saudi conspiracy, and an inept group of dimwits in the White House.

I wouldn't say they were "dimwits". They were criminal conspirators who belong at the end of a noose.

“You’re very naive if you think Bush didn’t know the day of the attack who was behind it.”

There are only two ways to think about this in that context. One, that Bush knew the day of the attack, because he knew before the attack - and I reject that. Two, Bush had a good idea who was behind the attack (after the attack), primarily because it bore the trademark of bin Laden (lots of people thought this at the time) and because of the intelligence that was given to him after the attack. The documents themselves state that the intelligence agencies didn't consider the Saudis as exporters of terrorism at the time of the 9-11 attack, and thus IMHO it is doubtful that Bush was given definitive intelligence at the time stating that the Saudis were complicit in the attack.

Plus, I don't think of the Saudis as a monolithic entity. I don't trust them in the slightest, but don't think that the entire family is in the business of exporting terrorism. IMHO there are factions within the Saudi family that are more problematic than others, and that the Saudi right hand and left hand don't always play in concert. I also think that the Saudis hold on power in SA is fragile, and that the US government and intelligence agencies don't know sometimes which is the worst scenario - the continuation of the nefarious state of SA, or what would replace it if the Saudi family lost control.

While I agree with the premise of your comment, we went after the wrong places, and my regiment mates died to help cover up for the Sauds.

I get that the situation is complicated in SA, but I would still like to see Medina and mecca with mushroom clouds overhead.

I’m very sorry about your regiment mates. Very, sincerely. I think too many young men and women have died while fighting (or while deployed and not allowed to fight) in a war that has not been declared, and against an enemy that our own ‘leaders’ won’t name. Frankly, too many of those in politics don’t deserve to have our sons and daughters fighting for them. I’m beyond ‘draft’ age, but it would be much more appropriate for me, and my generation, to go and fight the mess that many of us helped create by looking the other way and by voting in many people who never should have been allowed leadership roles.

“Bush had to know this...”

After the fact. Probably fairly long after the fact. The redacted pages themselves state multiple times that the CIA and FBI weren't treating the Saudis as a potential terrorist threat prior to 9-11, and could not produce definitive evidence after 9-11, so I highly doubt Bush or anyone else in the White House or Congress knew the score.

I'm not exonerating Bush from any responsibility, but I'm also totally unwilling to proclaim Bush was a ‘traitor’ on the basis of some redacted pages of speculation that were

selectively released by an administration that would just love to rekindle the anti-Bush, it's all Bush's fault rhetoric just before a major US election.

What we should all keep in mind is that the Clintons have received millions from the Saudis, and the Saudis have been contributing heavily to Hillary.

The Clintons have absolutely no excuse for doing this, as the nefarious role of Saudi Arabia in global terrorism has become much more a concern in recent years, and Hillary would have had access to all things Saudi while she was SOS.

>>>>Let's not fall into the trap of letting the left provoke a response that distracts from their role.
