Nearly four-fifths of white evangelical voters plan to cast their ballots for Donald J. Trump, despite his multiple marriages, lack of piety and inconsistency on the issues they care about most, a new poll has found.
Support for Mr. Trump among white evangelicals is even stronger than it was four years ago for Mitt Romney, the previous Republican candidate for president, according to the poll of religious voters, released on Tuesday by the Pew Research Center.
White evangelicals make up about one-fifth of all registered voters and are a coveted bloc who, when energized, can turn out the vote through their churches and social networks. It has been unclear to what extent Mr. Trump will be able to capture this core Republican constituency, because some leading evangelicals have spoken of being disturbed by his penchant for boasting about himself and belittling others, his pledges to deport Mexican immigrants and bar Muslims from entering the country, and his past support for abortion rights and gay rights.

Donald Trump has locked up four-fifths of one-fifth of all voters!!
Figure that one out!!
turnout of evangelicals will be key - I believe they want to win the most.
.80 x .20 = .16
16%
16%
What’s wrong with the other 1/5????
cancels out the blacks and then some!
They’re notoriously hard to win.
Agreed.
I’ll take a Fifth of Dewars
I know several who feel that voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. And they feel that Trump is evil.
I’ve convinced some of the people in my circle who feel that way they need to suck it up, but there are still several who won’t vote for him.
Trump will be a more fun President than you know who.
16% of the popular voting electorate
I went to college
A grand school with a racist name
Makes me proud these days
yes
it don’t speculate on what percentage will not be voting for either cuz a certain percent wont show up
the 1 fifth who do not support think that Trump is lying and is no better than HRC.
But what I tell them is, there is a chance Trump will do the right thing...even if it is only 20-30...whatever percent. But we KNOW what Hillary is, and how bad she is, and there is NO CHANCE she will do the right thing.
So I am voting for a chance....I don’t see why more people don’t vote for giving him a chance to prove it, when the alternative is what it is.
BWAHAHAHA
So there
We don't KNOW exactly what we will get with Trump, but I do believe that he is a man of his word, distinguishes between right and wrong, and has a good heart.
We know that Hilary is exactly the opposite of those values.
Here’s at least one evangelical who will vote for him.
Alinsky rule #4. Make the opposition live up to their own book of rules.
Like Ben Carson so aptly said, there are people on our side falling for the old "He's not perfect, therefore I can't vote for him schtick." The democrats are so good at pushing that in our face, then they go home and laugh.
Pretty smart for a doc.
Those are the ones who love themselves the #NeverTrump... And they aren't sure they'd even vote for Jesus if he was running, what with his hanging around loose women, long hair, and hippy sandals and what-not...
