House Republican infighting has forced GOP leaders to indefinitely postpone a vote on an "anti-terrorism package," leaving Congress with no legislative response to last month's massacre in Orlando.

As Democrats are pushing Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) for votes on their gun control proposals, taking to the House floor Thursday to read the names of victims of gun violence, Republicans can’t agree among themselves on what they will support in a gun package.

While some in House leadership hold out hope for a vote before the July 15 recess, sources cautioned that much work remains to get there.

Anybody see any update after the events last week? Are they delaying action on freedom of the press as well? Cooling off period before publishing an article? No articles if you're responsible for misdemeanor domestic abuse No? That's weird.

The number one absolute position of this Republican Controlled Congress is that there SHOULD BE NO NEW LEGISLATION FOR ANYTHING, PERIOD!.

Screw Democrats, screw the whiners, screw the media. Deal with the reality. If you don’t like ‘reality’ then effing change it if you can. You won’t and you know it and you’re trying to bullshit simpering RINOs into believing your bullshit. Screw you. Go vote. Vote twice, like most of you do. It still won’t matter. WE WILL BURY YOU WITH TRUMP VOTES. Deal with that.

Yeah, that, and they lack the stones to call for anything really meaningful such as more restrictions on importing jihadi mental cases.

The only new firearms legislation needed is repeal of all the ( unconstitutional and conter- productive) “gun control” (sic) “laws” and “regulations”. ASAP. And repatriate the Moslems to their “own” krapistans

Why wait?

Recess early—it is not like the GOP led Congress has accomplished anything in 2016.

“Recess early—it is not like the GOP led Congress has accomplished anything in 2016.”

I don’t want them to accomplish anything, because it will most likely be to the detriment of conservatism. I want nothing to be done until we have a President Trump to undo much of prior legislation, or fix it. That’s what I want.

Perhaps a trade is possible:

gun show backgroundchecks for individual sellers (with 24-hour government response required for first day sales)

in exchange for

no legally required background checks or other federal or state impediments at a single seller’s establishment if you the buyer apparently already own a gun of the same class (pistol, single-shot rifle, revolver, semi-automatic).

What is the point of a background check for the purchase of a revolver at a dealer’s store if you already have a revolver in hand when you first walk in the door?

New legislation on gun control or mentally ill jihadist control would not have prevented Orlando. Only better police/FBI/DHS/CIA intelligence would have had a chance.

At this point I do not trust the FBI, the DHS, the CIA, or the NSA to walk my dog.

One thing would have worked. Do not allow Democrats to own it purchase guns. America’s crime problem is solved. And they are already self registered! /s...sort of

Discount double check? How about we compromise and just go with the 2nd Amendment and the definition of infringe. Works for me.

And make Constitutional Carry a Federal Law that supercedes ALL state and local laws.
