The unanswered question for Atlanta Police chief George Turner: When will the protests end?
As hundreds of demonstrators gathered Sunday for a fourth consecutive night in downtown Atlanta, Turner worried about the impact relentless heat and stress is having on his officers as they work 12 hour shifts trying to keep safe the public and the protesters.
“They’ve been in the heat so long we don’t want them to lose their cool,” he said.
Turner’s force has been widely praised for its levelheaded response to a massive march Saturday night where some 10,000 people railed against police shootings in far off Louisiana and Minnesota.
The chief’s comments Sunday came as a legendary Atlanta civil rights leader had sharp words for the latest wave of protests.
“Those are some unlovable little brats out there some times,” Andrew Young told Atlanta police officers in a pep talk. “Don’t let anybody get you upset.”

Never. Because the police are not attacking them with arrest and the court just pat them on the hand and let go. Soros pays more and these criminals would rather take home a paycheck and have fun pelting cops and destroy. Government has failed up big time.

This was meant to overload cities.
At some point they have to start being unafraid to cross Big Ears.
So, to placate the mob, and out of wasted respect for political correctness, they stress the all-important Blue Line to a completely unnecessary braking point, preventing them from protecting the rights of poor folks.
Damn shameful.
This is the counter to Trump’s uncanny ability to attract free media. Not only does it stir up the lefties, but it keeps Trump from getting free TV.
Next week’s riots in Cleveland will do the same.
There’s not supposed to be only one line, as well. Police organizations, too, can pat themselves on the back in public.
Hopefully the Trumpteam will have some good answers here. Support your police may be a nice start, but we have a lot bigger issue here.
