Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas sustained "extensive second- and third-degree burns" on both legs below the knees and both feet -- and may miss next week's Republican National Convention as a result, his office said Sunday.
Spokesman Matt Hirsch said Abbott was with his family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Thursday when he was scalded in an accident involving hot water. He declined to provide further details.
The governor was treated for several hours at nearby St. John's Medical Center. As he was being released, a top aide called from Texas to say a gunman had opened fire in downtown Dallas -- an attack that killed five police officers and wounded seven others....

Just saw this headline over at instapundit. Man it does sound weird. The guy is in a wheelchair, sounds like either he pulled a pot of boiling water on himself or someone threw it on him.

I once knocked a large (think restaurant size) coffee pot onto myself...long story. Ended up with 2ND degree burns on thigh...lots of pain...I imagine an accident occurred.
I’d pick beer incident, since crab boil pot does not come to mind for WY.

I guess I can see that happening - if you somehow spilled the pot it would go all over your lap. I was standing naked once with a cup of coffee and the handle broke off and it went all over my midsection. I don’t know why the naked business is important. Thinking about it, if I had had clothing on it would have been worse.

Lotta crap going down in general. Abbott is one of ebolas biggest refuseniks. He sued him right and left as AG, and has resisted continuously since becoming governor. I have to be suspicious of everything these days.
On the CBSN site and the Austin American Statesman site, the comments by Democrats reek of hatred for this very good man. These people who “wish it had been hot oil,” who think “he did it on purpose to get out of going to Trump’s convention,” who hope he dies, are totally possessed by Satan. Jesus says, “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer. And you know no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” These cursed individuals have a truly miserable life here, but an unimaginably horrible life awaiting them.
I’m sure Obama has had TX in his sights for just those reasons.

Strange coincidence that the Texas Governor is severely burned the same day as the shooting of the police officers in Dallas, TX. Doesn’t Dick Cheney live in Wyoming? Jackson Hole sounds very familiar. Where is my tin foil hat?
