Four suspects were arrested Friday night and Saturday morning in connection with kidnapping a woman and holding her for ransom.

The Vallejo Police Department was contacted July 1 by John Babb, 36, of San Francisco, who reported his mother, Elvira Babb, 57, of Vallejo, was kidnapped, explained Lt. Jeff Bassett.

Babb said he received a text June 30 from an unknown number, advising they had his mother and demanding cash. Police say the caller also threatened to kill Elvira if Babb contacted the police or did not produce the money.

I grew up in Vallejo and my parents still live there. I moved to Texas in 1991.

Vallejo is the kidnapping capital of Northern Kalifornia. My Dad said that the state uses Solano County as a dumping ground for parolees.

4 people have been arrested for kidnapping this 57 year old Filipino woman for ransom but she is still missing.

You are going to see this sort of thing spread nationwide. You heard it here. This is commonplace in Mexico, and unfortunately it will be common here in the coming years with all of the Mexican criminals.

Arm up and carry everywhere.

There it is.

During their investigation, detectives were able to uncover enough information to issue an arrest warrant for the primary suspect, identified as Emmanuel Espinoza, 26, of Stockton.

Undocumented Citizen?

The Times - Herald neglected to mention one way or the other...

I lived there in the 60's. It was a very nice place, where kids could play after dark with no problems.

The Police showed us one day a good place to shoot our BB Guns. Which turned out to be close to where the Zodiac Killer struck one night ;-/
