The answer is yes and yes.
Clearly the police were justified in using deadly force. If he was killed by a bullet, why is that "better" than his being killed by a bomb? Doesn't matter to him, I would guess, he's dead either way.

Because as usual the article makes it sound like “Police said he was angry about black lives matter, so they sent in a killdozer to eliminate him without prejudice like in a bad sci fi movie”
The idea is great ! If your comrades are being taken down by guerillas, hiding in bushes and bluffs (I listening the live-feed from the police scanners, and MANY police were pinned down defending civilians) then whoever said “Lets get the bomb robot, strap a bomb to the f*cker and end this” is a damned genius.
But if this is SOP then I just wonder how police will use this technology when it comes time to declare Obama’s martial law / gun grabs and shit.

I think you’re wrong on that. He was the guy using the concrete columns as cover, and also the one who took down the cop and shot him execution style at close range. I believe he fled back into a building where he was ‘IED’d’ by police later.

A robot is no different than a gun, both are inanimate objects used by humans to kill.
Not familiar with bullet proof vests, under what circumstances (close range, type ammo, etc) does this usually happen?

The article says it was a device hooked to their bomb squads robot, as I read it. This “device” could have been anything from a 12ga to flash bang to shaped charge. Who knows at this point. Perhaps that set off a bomb the perp had...
