A stretch of the Nimitz reopened early Friday morning after Oakland protesters had shut it down - almost holding a party there - while also setting a small fire and ripping down a Caltrans board.

In addition, some protesters painted Oakland police headquarters in red and broke glass and spraypainted a daunting message to police on a side wall that read "MURDERERS" in all capital letters. Nearby, there were smashed windows at Foot Locker and Chase bank on Broadway at 14th Street.

At that time in Oakland, there were speeches and marches, and despite the angry mood of the crowd, the people who attended were mostly peaceful. [emphasis added]

I have to go to that very building (or within 2 blocks) to post bail on a traffic ticket. No, not today, but soon.
So the police didn’t even defend police HQ. Soon the police won’t come out other than in force and the citizenry who so hate the police can see how to live with no police at all.
Police allowed their own headquarters to be vandalized without reacting?

What we’re about to realize this week is: a large segment of the America population is not appalled or even upset at what happened in Dallas.
Rather, they are celebrating the assassination of police officers.

Judging from the set up in Dallas, nothing has to happen locally anymore to spark violence.
A black can be shot (whether or not the police shooting was justified or not) in one area of the country and the fallout happens in another.
