Donald Trump Threatens to Self-Fund Campaign if GOP Support Wavers
NBC News ^ | JUN 19 2016, 8:23 ET | by ALEXANDRA JAFFE and HALLIE JACKSON

LAS VEGAS — Donald Trump on Saturday claimed most of the money he's been collecting at his recent fundraisers is going to the Republican Party, but also threatened to cut the GOP off if support from the party wavers.

"Right now I'm raising a lot of money for the Republican Party, and a lot of beneficiaries to that, and I like doing it," Trump said.

"Life is like a two-way street, right?" Trump said. "They have to [help], otherwise I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, I'll just keep funding my own campaign…for me, that's the easy way," he said.

Trump's candidacy has been problematic for some in the GOP. Some Republican delegates in Colorado are moving forward with a plan to oust Trump at the party's convention. And House Speaker Paul Ryan on Friday said he wouldn't instruct House members to vote for Trump, saying they should vote their conscience.

Trump in Las Vegas Saturday dismissed efforts to oust him at the convention as a "hoax" that was "made up by the press."

Trump also pointed out the grassroots effort haven't tapped an alternative.

"Who were they going to pick? I've beat everybody," Trump said. "But I don't mean beat, I beat the hell out of them, right? Beat the hell out of them."

Trump accused two of his former opponents — Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush — of being in on the effort.

No, CRUZ seems “weak” for not supporting Trump. The GOPe seems “weak” for not getting behind the nominee the way it did Minion and Juan McLame.

“Weak” defines the non-Trumpers. Oh, wait, would that be you?

Why would you think it would come from special interests? All you need is the party to get out the lists and the organization and do just a LITTLE fundraising.

But, of course, the non-Trump Cruzers, whose guy got his @ss whipped badly, are still butt hurt that they couldn’t even win the “very conservative” vote in most states.

>>The GOPe is in the tank for Hillary, lock, stock and barrelhead. <<

That’s delusional. How have you ever managed to convince yourself of that? And you sound so certain too.

Buy a clue. It is a completely logical statement because for example the Republican Speaker of the House is cutting TV ads for her on a near daily basis.

I thought he was self funding his campaign. I honestly have tweets and videos of him saying this.

He self-funded the Primary leg of it to prove he was not beholden to anyone. Only a fool would plan on spending over a $ billion of their own money w/o the thought of getting financial aid from the Party that one represents. His willingness is another good sign - he's telling the GOPe/RNC and the Repub traitors that they can go pound sand if they think they can stop him via spite fits....

Ouch. I’ve just received a petty, insecure post from an insecure poster with a “PLEASE NOTICE ME!!” clownish handle.

Why not organize fundraisers for himself? I doubt Romney was raising money for the RNC at this stage of the campaign four years ago. Trump needs to look out for his own campaign, and the money for the other races will also come.

I thought it was against the rules to spend their own money, until the official nomination was set? So he can’t even if he wanted to, until then.

The Dems time this crap like the minions they are, when they realize he can’t spend the money but the flailing RNC can but won’t. Am I close?

LS I pray that your ideas will reach Trump’s campaign people. I always think you have the best ideas. Personally, I don’t want him to cowtow to the party. He may do better by going it alone with “his Movement”.

I have a good contact, so I RARELY use him. I want him to really consider anything I send.

Might be about time. The whole system is now trying to bring him down. GOP, Dems, media and the power brokers. That’s an awful lot to overcome. How long can he hang on to his supporters with that kind of negative incoming?

You, and ALL: I will be sending out an election analysis this week. I don’t think we’ve even begun, and Trump is already in good shape.

It’s like that Olympic race where the lanes are staggered and the first guy starts 10 yard ahead of everyone else . . . but they’re even? It means he’s already lost.

All I can do from here is pray. I sent a sizable donation to Trump for his birthday. That’s about my limit on a retirement fixed income.
