The New York Times editorial board tried to lay the blame for the terrorist attack on an Orlando nightclub by an avowed ISIS supporter on Republicans who don’t support gay rights:

While the precise motivation for the rampage remains unclear, it is evident that Mr. Mateen was driven by hatred toward gays and lesbians. Hate crimes don’t happen in a vacuum. They occur where bigotry is allowed to fester, where minorities are vilified and where people are scapegoated for political gain. Tragically, this is the state of American politics, driven too often by Republican politicians who see prejudice as something to exploit, not extinguish.”

Ultimately, the problem was COWARDS.
When we read how the attack went down (this was not a sudden barrage, this was a drawn out affair that lasted three hours) I puzzle and puzzle. WHY DIDN’T THEY TRY TO CHARGE THE SHOOTER? Some may have suffered casualties in such an attempt, but he wouldn’t have had a chance to kill fifty before being overpowered by being jumped on.

Well if they want to see “real” homophobia, they shouldn’t look at the people who don’t want to sell them cake inscriptions. They should look at the people who want to push them off of walls or whip them to death.
They ought to start considering THAT, and then they will wish that a handful of people refusing to make them a pseudo-wedding cake was the worst they ever saw in society.

The left is really unhinged on this. To equate a philosophical and religious discussion about gay marriage and homosexuality to the advocation of murdering gays is a HUGE leap. Especially when the root cause of Mateen’s rage was his hatred toward gays manifested through the religion of peace, where homosexuality is a crime punishable by death and gays have been thrown off rooftops.
