Why Hasn't ESPN Disciplined Jemele Hill For Political Tweet About The Orlando Shootings?

Earlier this year, ESPN sent a memo to its employees that tells them to refrain from making political statements. But it seems as if the policy has a double standard.

Jemele Hill, a co-host on ESPN2′s His & Hers, tweeted Sunday that it’s wrong for Americans to condemn homophobia in Islamic cultures, given the discrimination that gay people have faced in the United States. The tweet was a response to the reaction following the Orlando shootings, where a gunman pledged allegiance to ISIS before killing 49 people and wounding 53 more inside of a popular gay nightclub early Sunday morning.

This is what she said: "So in a country where we have done everything possible to undermine the LGBTQ community, we are suddenly lecturing Islam on homophobia. Oh."

A terrible double standard by ESPN/Disney to suspend Schilling for "political comments" but this is ok.

Islam specifically advocates killing homosexuals. Does Jemele Hill believe that such barbarity does not deserve to be criticized?

Please, Ms. Hill, show a little respect for Islam. Don't call the killer homophobic. Call him observant.

Refused to host a gay "wedding" at their home, which also served as a B&B (fined $13,000 - Christians are the problem!)
