FBI Special Agent Ron Hopper, who’s in charge of Orlando’s FBI office, says that the individual who attacked an Orlando nightclub Sunday morning bragged about “having ties to terrorist organizations.”
The shooter is reportedly Omar Mateen, a U.S. citizen from Port Saint Lucie, Fla., according to CBS News.
Hopper said, “The history that we know of this individual so far is that he may have made threats that he was tied to” islamic terror.
In an interview on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends Sunday,” Hopper said, “There’s allegations that the individual has made threats in the past to having ties to terrorist organizations. However, those have not been confirmed or vetted so far. Obviously, we are in the initial stages of this investigation at this time.”
When asked where he got that information, Hopper said, “Unfortunately, I can’t divulge that information at this time because all these things are tied to the actual active investigation so we’re trying to be as clear and transparent as we can because we want the general public to feel as safe and secure as possible and that’s not something that I can share.”
UPDATE:
During a press conference later in the day, Hopper said, “We do have suggestions that that individual may have leanings towards that, that particular ideology [Islamic extremism]. But right now we can’t say definitively, so we’re still running everything around.”
But it wasn’t on “social media”, so it didn’t count.

WAG on my part, soon the mooslims won’t even try and apologize, they smell blood in the water and they are like sharks, to them it is perfectly logical to smite the unbelievers and dominate them. And the left all but telegraphs willingness to submit to any people with a grievance. Muslim mass killings will be a monthly occurrence and your average every day “peaceful” muslim in the space of a year will blame the victims.
I guess we’ll be seeing the DNC’s national “media” out there saying this guy is a liar. He didn’t have any “ties to terrorist organizations”. Their terrorist organization buddies already confirmed to them that he didn’t.

There were a few points made about Islam, but they were swamped out by the "you can't blame a religion for the acts of a few" posts.
My Point: It's clear to most of us here what happened and what steps need to be taken to minimize future events. But, these people think differently (if stupidly) and they vote!

I heard on the news that he had a “G” license.

If there was any hint of him having isis ties, I would think he should have been on gov. radar, big time.

How could any person in this country feel safe and secure if the FBI knew of this Islamic terrorist’s ties to ISIS and nothing was done?

The federal government has failed to protect us.
They have no interest in taking the necessary steps to go to the source of the problem and stop it.
There should be a complete and permanent ban on all Muslims from entering the United States.
No student visas, no refugees, not even for vacation or travel.
A complete and total ban.
It is time to stop waiting on elected officials in Washington to do something, and start putting pressure on your local and state officials.
Start contacting your local and state officials to do something about Obama putting hordes of Muslims into our communities.
