MANILA, Philippines – President-elect Rodrigo Duterte is considering implementing martial law in Sulu, Basilan and the entire Sulu Archipelago in an attempt to eliminate the Abu Sayyaf Group.

The terrorist group has continually engaged in high-profile kidnappings throughout the southern regions of the Philippines – often abducting business owners and foreigners. Recently the group has begun decapitating its captives after ransom demands are not met.

Duterte told reporters during his pre-election campaign that he would not hesitate to invade Sulu if the Abu Sayyaf Group does not surrender to his demands. ...

... Today, the Abu Sayyaf are still holding at least ten people for ransom including Robert Hall, Kjartan Sekkingstad and Marites Flor who were taken captive on Samal Island, just outside of Davao City.

The Abu Sayyaf have already killed and decapitated John Ridsdel after his family and the Canadian government refused to deliver on the 300 million pesos ransom demand for his release.

The ASG have now given a deadline of June 13th for the release of Hall and Sekkingstad – the Abu Sayyaf are demanding 300-million pesos each or they will decapitate both of them as they did to John Ridsdel.

Recent reports say that an additional Army battalion has been deployed to Sulu for a massive offensive against the Abu Sayyaf before the deadline. To date there are eight battalions in Sulu, and the same number deployed in Bansalin

Sources say that two additional battalions will be deployed once martial law is implemented in the region.

The Abu Sayyaf have inundated the regions of Sulu and Bansilan for over four decades, however they have now turned their sites on ISIS, ISIL and other extremist groups in Malaysia and Indonesia.

The group is responsible for the Philippines worst terrorist attack when they bombed Super Ferry #14 in 2014, killing 116 people.

The Philippines government recently labeled the ASG as a ‘terrorist organization,’ until then they were never considered as such.

Those hostages should be treated as though they are dead and act accordingly.

How long, I wonder, before the world media are hounding him like they did Marcos?

Meanwhile Duterte is good friends with Joma Sison, who leads the Filipino terrorist group NPA, military arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

NPA/CPP is on the U.S. International Terrorist List.

Maybe he could tell them to put on their big boy pants, and, well, you know, kind of cruise around the Sulu Archipelago a little bit, by themselves, and kind of see what happens.

If he rids the Philippines of Abu Sayyaf Group, more power to him. Bury them under pigs.

Maybe Duarte is smart enough to divide and conquer. The last thing he wants is the communist and the Islamist to become allies. Also unlike the Muslims the communist may have actual grievances that can be addressed.

When we toppled Saddam & Khadaffi, the boot was removed from the neck of the radicals, and now we’ve got a worse mess on our hands.

Similarly with Syria, etc. (going back to the Shah of Iran)

Makes you wonder if that’s why they’re so intent on importing these “refugees”, so that they can, down the road, impose their own martial law.

They might. One of those dirt bags that killed that Canadian, did not mask up. I would suspect that people may have already figured out who that chump is. When they find him, it's over for him. Right or wrong, that's the Filipino way.
People make the mistake of thinking they should think and act like Americans. They don't. More than likely, these dudes will become fish food and we won't know about it. 🐋 They will just disappear one by one. 👍

Removing the stench of Islam from humanity is a noble cause.

Any religion that reveres a founder who raped a nine year old girl needs to be rotting in a cesspool.

Meanwhile Duterte is good friends with Joma Sison ...

It never ceases to amaze me when ignorance is posted as truth. Duterte is not friends with the man. He was a student in a University class taught by Sison. Sison was exiled more than 30 years ago. and has lived in France.

Duterte is intent on uniting the people of the Philippines and ran on a Federalist ticket. His goal is to allow each province to be more autonomous, while maintaining ties with the national government. He has avowed to be a Socialist, but his time in Davao has been pro-people.

Ignorance can be cured. Stupidy is forever!

Where are all the; "But he's a communist" naysayers ?

I've liked Duterte since I first heard of him about two years ago and have followed everything the Americans were allowed to see/read

Personally, I think he's more a staunch Libertarian rather than a communist ... with the exception of a firm and powerful central government ... which can STILL be limited

Just because you take out your enemies swiftly and completely doesn't mean you're a dictator

I don't know bro. I am amazed that people who generally don't believe a word the libtard media say, about anything, suddenly believe everything they say about Duterte.
He can eliminate Abu Sayyaf swiftly and completely, and millions would love him for that. I know we walk the streets of Davao, in peace.

AH, IGNORANCE IS BLISS...NOT!

http://boholnewstoday.com/201501/duterte-wants-conflict-with-muslims-settled.html

Pinol said it was the first the mayor admitted that his maternal grandmother had Moro lineage.

Pinol pointed out that his ties with the Muslims were made even stronger because his eldest son, Paulo, who is now Davao vice mayor, converted to Islam when he married a Muslim Tausug girl.

In his speech during the first Mindanao Summit on Federalism, Duterte said half of his grandchildren are Muslims.

http://davaobreakingnews.com/jaafar-to-duterte-you-act-talk-like-a-milf-you-can-be-a-muslim-too/

Duterte also said that he has Muslim blood from his mother’s side.

Jaafar reacted by saying that the mayor acts and talks like a Moro or better yet like a MILF warrior. The MILF official said that Duterte is welcome to shift his religion to Islam considering that Muslims are allowed to have a much as four wives, obviously referring to Duterte’s public admission that he has two wives and few more girlfriends.

http://cnnphilippines.com/news/2016/04/09/duterte-muslims-are-lucky-if-i-win-presidency.html

Buluan, Maguindanao — “Kung manalo ako na presidente, swerte ang mga Muslim, swerte ang Mindanao.”

[Translation: If I become president, Muslims and Mindanao are lucky.]

Duterte also promised to “correct the historical injustice committed against the Moro people.”

Duterte also lamented the failure of the government to pass the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

“Nangako sila ng BBL pero sinabi ko na, noon, pa na duda ako. Dumating ang panahon, walang BBL na lumabas. Napahiya tayo,” he said.

[Translation: They promised to pass the BBL but I was doubtful. When the time came, no BBL was passed. They let us down.]

*BBL : Gives FULL AUTONOMY to Muslims in the Philippines i.e. PERMISSION FOR SHARIAH, it was opposed because it would place a HUGE SWATH of the Philippines, even certain provinces which are NOT MUSLIM MAJORITY OR EVEN MUSLIM MINORITY (like Palawan, the 3rd largest Philippine island after Luzon and Mindanao), under Muslim Control & Domination, merely for being allegedly “Historically Muslim” (e.g. “Israel and Palestine”).

DUTERTE : MUSLIM-LOVER, JUST LIKE OBAMA!

I'm also sad that the events of Orlando have shattered my political beliefs, as I can no longer swear allegiance to a peace-love-and-unicorns progressive philosophy that only helps to get my fellow queers killed. Yes, there is a war between religious fundamentalism and the spirit of love and tolerance. But we progressives here in America still labor under the delusion that the religion we need to combat is Christianity. But that's a strawman opponent, and has been so for decades. Since the 1990s, Christian extremists have essentially lost all their power, and are now toothless nonplayers in the "culture wars." Meanwhile, Muslim extremists, with guns, murder us, and on the left our only response is to bleat about "Islamophobia" and jump through hoops trying to explain away the self-evident religious motivation for the killings...
