Paris floods made almost twice as likely by climate change, say scientists

The Paris floods, that saw extreme rainfall swell the river Seine to its highest level in decades, were made almost twice as likely because of the manmade emissions driving global warming, scientists have found.

As artworks in the Louvre were moved to safety and Paris's cobbled walkways were submerged, the French president, Francois Hollande, blamed the floods on climate change.

Now a preliminary analysis by a group of scientists, including the Dutch weather agency and the University of Oxford, has concluded the risk of the flooding event in Paris was almost doubled - multiplied by a factor of 1.8 - by humanity's influence on the climate.

"Hollande was right to say climate change is playing a role but at the same time it's important to say that this event could've happened without climate change," said Prof Pyles Aiken, a climate scientist at the University of Oxford.

The climate science community is speeding up its efforts to draw the links - the attribution - between extreme weather events and climate change, while such events are fresh in the public and politician's minds.

"The crucial thing is decisions... they get made in the aftermath of these events, when minds are focused on the impacts," said Aiken.

This constant flogging of the old Global Warming scam is becoming funny to witness. But you have to admire the tenacity of the Leftists. They never give up. But they are invariably wrong. About everything.

The only thing "Climate Change" is doing here is taking the blame for rare but regular weather events.

So if this is the highest in decades....then that means it has flooded before, and likely before that many times for centuries!

Dear “scientists”.

Bite me!

Sincerely,

Ardent glow-bull BS denier.

Why didn’t they just go ahead and REALLY scare the frogs and tell them it’s 800 times more likely. I really, really don’t like these people.

Climate change has to be blamed. It is too late to blame Bush and too early to blame Trump.

Nature is going to do what nature is going to do. The key is, you have to man up and adjust to the changes. Human beings have been adjusting to environmental changes for thousands of years.

How come climate change or global warming is localized?

“Paris floods made almost twice as likely by climate change ...” and then again, maybe not “, say scientists”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.....” Joseph Goebbels

All this was inspired by the principle—which is quite true within itself—that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie,

since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.

Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X[1]

The left’s adoption of this principle alone, is enough to consider them Nazi’s.

You are wrong, climate change is responsible for floods, drought, increased storm frequency, decreased storm frequency, famine, surplus, wildfires, excess foliage, global warming, global cooling, desertification, deforestation, reforestation, increased lake levels, decreased lake levels, higher sea levels, lower sea levels, revolution, counter-revolution, free trade, tariffs, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, the rise of Rome, the Fall of Rome, war, peace, murder, births, deaths, disease, overpopulation, and the popularity of Justin Beiber.

Is there anything it can’t do?

..and the popularity of Justin Beiber.

No, it was Canadian propaganda there. That's another reason we need to invade Canada.
