Paul Ryan Calls Donald Trump’s Attack on Judge ‘Racist,’ but Backs Him Still
New York Times ^ | JUNE 7, 2016 | DAVID M. HERSZENHORN

Posted on 06/07/2016 8:29:15 AM PDT by reaganaut1

WASHINGTON — Speaker Paul D. Ryan on Tuesday called Donald J. Trump’s criticism of a Hispanic-American judge “the textbook definition of a racist comment” and said he “regrets” the remark. But Mr. Ryan also reiterated his support for Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, against Hillary Clinton.

“I disavow these comments — I regret those comments that he made,” Mr. Ryan said after announcing a new Republican anti-poverty initiative in Anacostia, an overwhelmingly black neighborhood in Washington.

“Claiming a person can’t do their job because of their race is sort of like the textbook definition of a racist comment,” Mr. Ryan continued. “I think that should be absolutely disavowed. It’s absolutely unacceptable. But do I believe that Hillary Clinton is the answer? No, I do not.”

He added, “I believe that we have more common ground on the policy issues of the day and we have more likelihood of getting our policies enacted with him than with her.”

Mr. Trump made the comments about Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel of Federal District Court, who is overseeing a suit against the now-shuttered Trump University.

Pressed on Mr. Trump’s doubling down on his position that he is skeptical of the objectivity of nonwhite judges, Mr. Ryan said, “If you say something that is wrong, the mature and responsible thing is to acknowledge that it’s wrong.”

Still waiting for some lefty to show concrete proof of Trump’s racism. I have yet to see any.

The don’t need to. Paul Ryan just cut a negative Trump ad for Hillary today. This is totally intentional, IMO.

Ryan is a damn fool. He is not the conservative Constitutionalists that some seem to feel he is. He is nothing more than a GOPe and so deep with the establishment that he is useless as a member of the House much less the speaker.

Trump for President.

Can someone tell me what the SAINT Paul Ryan said about the nomination Of Sonia Sotomayor to Supreme court??
She was on record according to the New York Times saying as a judge she would use ethnicity and sex in coming to her rulings, she said this in a speech, and was told that could cause her problems in confirmation hearings,I am.sure The Saint Ryan must have called her a bigot and Racist and should not be on the Supreme court. Of course we know the racist and bigot was appointed and is sitting on the Supreme court as Trump is castigated by all the aholes who voted for the racist and bigot Sotomayor

You may also have received a video from Paul Ryan.  If it sounds like the same old same old (as MOST of the commenters below the video observed), that's because it probably is!

Some 411 about Ryan:

He's mentioned that his BEST bud in congress is one Luis Gutierrez (LG), FLAMING LEFTIST DEMOCRAT from Illinois.  You know, the home of Chicago and Cook County where, in addition to others, the elections of Kennedy and obozo were STOLEN by the Democrat machine!

Why is his closeness to Luis of interest?  Their ratings by several outfits that do that sort of thing may be an indicator.  The lower the score (on a scale from "0" to "100" at CU and from "A" to "F" at GRADEGOV) on the more radically leftist the member.

CONSERVATIVE UNION:  RYAN 89/LG 4.45!  (Yes, that's 4.45!!!)

GRADEGOV.COM: RYAN "B+"/LG "F"

HERITAGE SCORD: RYAN (NOT AVAILABLE)/LG 19 (I assume when Ryan got the Speaker's job, Heritage stopped rating him.)

Speaking of his elevation to Speaker, a funny thing happened there. Before he'd take the job, Ryan demanded a change in the process for motion to “vacate the chair” ESTABLISHED by THOMAS JEFFERSON, leading some opponents to call him "King Paul".

MY question is this: Does Ryan's friendship with a radical leftist like LG mean he naively believes he can convert LG to conservatism?  Or, like his apparent affection for obozo, manifested most conspicuously by his cave over on nearly every one of obozo's moves to operate outside the Constitution,  grow the bureaucracy, use illegal immigrant welfare, etc. to break the bank via Cloward- Piven, supporting open amnesty, the continued importation of UNVETTED muslim INVADERS, etc, do those friendships and "accommodations" indicate -- despite a fairly high score as a "conservative" -- a concealed leftist leaning that will become more apparent as we grow closer to the philosophical, moral and fiscal drain we've been circling for decades and multiple administrations? Just askin'.

The NWO globalist attacks the America 1st candidate for US President.

Maybe Ryan thinks he'll be on some body that will supersede US sovereignty.

Chief what do you think of the alcohol ban, for swabs in Japan? Of course I haven't been there since 65 so I don't know anything about liberty for todays sailors.

I hope!

AOL has been running a headline of P. Ryan attacking Trump. Hillary doesn't need the attack Trump. The Republicans are doing her job. This is sick!

btw, Trump is right on the judge. He and those bringing the lawsuit are involved with LaRaza. Also, here is no such race as "Mexican."

“Chief what do you think of the alcohol ban, for swabs in Japan?”

What I have been hearing (RUMINT) is that we are wearing out our welcome and this was necessary, primarily because the the little “richard heads” that we are recruiting today are very similar to the “richard heads” that you might find at an anti-trump rally — Don’t get me wrong, we are still recruiting strong, hard-working, dedicated, hard charging, patriotic, motivated Sailors, but we are also being “forced” to bring in some real $hit bags too.

I will bet my anchors that replacing the “old school” discipline with the new “how does that make you feel” disciple is the root of all this — Back in the old days, if little Johnny F’ed up, you, *ahem*, counseled him, harshly, and that served as a deterrent to the other little “richard heads.”

With our current C-in-C it doesn’t surprise me that discipline and morale are in the $hitter — BHO has weakened and soften training and discipline to the point that no one fears “one on one counseling with the Chief” anymore.

TTFlyer: “If it “ruins Trump” it ruins Americans of European descent as well.”

Most Americans, including most whites, including most white Republicans, don’t want leaders who are explicitly or implicitly “racist”.
But many are also beginning to “get” that Democrats have worked for decades to reduce, let us say, “legacy Americans” to the status of quaint minority.
And most are not comfortable with that, would like to see it stopped, nicely if possible, but stopped.

Hence Trump.

But is it already too late?

Too late? Maybe. Regardless, in less than 40 years Whites will be a minority in America. And judging from recent history a White minority is going to be in deep trouble.
