Trump: Gingrich criticism of me 'inappropriate'

A day after former Newt Gingrich called Donald Trump's latest comments on Judge Gonzalo Curiel "inexcusable," the presumptive Republican nominee fired back at the former House speaker, who has largely been supportive of his candidacy.

"As far as Newt is concerned, I saw Newt," Trump told "Fox & Friends" on Monday after the show played clips of Hillary Clinton and Gingrich denouncing his remarks speculating that Curiel's Mexican heritage represented a conflict of interest in the cases against Trump University over which he is presiding. "I was surprised at Newt. I thought it was inappropriate what he said."

Newt overestimated the importance of his worth. His opinion to Trump was marginal at best, and that was when it was complimentary.

The truth is that Newt is the Clinton Era, plain and simple. His track record starts with a wonderful coup of planning, tenacity and opposition, but quickly turned to the foibles that seem to get 99% of those we send to DC.

He never went home after he was forced to resign....I think he lives in DC or Virginia or somewhere, and he and “Callista” are still trading on his former glory (such as that was).

As a former constituent from his district, I’ll tell you he isn’t worth a plugged nickel.

Newt has overstepped on this one. Not only former AG Gonzales but another Federal Judge have both said Trump has the right to question this judge for conflict of interest. He should have recused himself from this case.

Trump didn’t expect to be torpedoed by the guy he was thinking of tapping as a running mate. It was, as Trump said, inappropriate.

VideoDoctor is correct. Trump should be attacking Hillary. By attacking anyone else he just takes attention away from Hillary. She is a monster who he needs to destroy. Why attack a “Mexican?”
