Have you considered that traditionally, Uslam emerged with Ishmael and Esau, and this inbreeding has highly concentrated the bloodline if these two?

Correct. Prior to the Mosaic Law, there were no prohibitions on marriage. There were too few people, and humanity was more genetically pure at that point.

Adam’s children, brothers and sisters, had to intermarry. There was nobody else. I think Jewish tradition says he had 69 kids or something like that.

By the time Moses came along, genetic drift had kicked in, therefore the need for genetic prohibitions.

I didn’t say it was, but it has been known for centuries that inbreeding was bad, and during modern times, is recognized as universally bad.

I do see the point you make, and I understand.

...and genetic drift has obviously had a bad effect. My guess is marriage was probably closer than cousins for much of the Ishmael/Esau history. Their family trees probably only have a trunk with no branches.

Cousin marriage was not uncommon in England in the 19th century including among Jewish families.

Inbreeding used to be common Sephardic Jews (Jews from Arabic lands). Some communities, like the Syrian Jews, are quite insular. According to an acquaintance, a social worker, the Sephardim have high rates of mental retardation. Ashkenazic Jews (like Yours Truly) are also a genetic time bomb as far as certain diseases like Tay Sachs or cystic fibrosis.

Fortunately the situation is changing, as Jews are losing their provincialism and there is greater "intramarriage" (Ashkenazim marrying Sephardim; absorption of converts.) Also, many religious Jews go for genetic screening before they begin to date (and most of these marriages are arranged).

I think a better way to put it is, the issue isn’t that first cousin marriage in and of itself is very very bad (though it can be if someone has certain genetic makeup already that will make something recessive express itself) the bad thing is that REPEATED and PERVASIVE first cousin marriage IS indeed bad, and it WILL bring undesirable traits to be expressed.

Having a first cousin here and there marrying isn’t much of a problem, but family-wide, community-wide, generation after generation is bad.

For an analogy, imagine just throwing all the genetics in a big pot and simmering off all the good stuff, leaving a concentrated morass of bad genetics more likely to express themselves.

Gives perspective to the Saudi 1-star who augered in while training in an F-16 we’d sold to them a couple of years ago. Night sortie, all the IPs said he hadn’t done well prior to that.

Everybody here should read "The Haj" by Leon Uris.

Great novel, I've read it twice (so far - maybe again in a few years). A real eye-opener.

I guess you have to start with IQ to have IQ. Jews have been largely inbreeding for 3500 years they they retain the highest average IQ in the world (115).

A couple of first cousins married in my way back family....they had one child...it died....then I’m told they decided to have NO more. So, at least they had the smarts to NOT procreate and cause problems.

There are several ME people in our small town. All have the same last name. They either own a small hotel or convenience store. All claim they aren’t related to each other. Suuure and I’m a purple penquin.

They haven’t produced anything worthwhile. All they can do is burn, destroy and murder. They study their indoctrination book and don’t bother learning anything worthwhile. They live in poverty because they don’t produce anything. Their lives are lived in complete misery while they wait to greet their 72 virgins.

Obama says they contribute much much more

America was founded upon islam, don'cha know.

I've seen several instances where inbreeding has produced messed up kids. Deaths even. It very sad that parents would intentionally do this to their children. But the parents are already on the low end of the IQ scale so explaining it to them time and time again does no good.

In the late 1970s, my college profs were instructed to pass the Iranians no matter what. With bell curve grading, that sure did a number on the rest of us.
