Four houses surrounding Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's home in Palo Alto will be demolished and replaced by smaller ones, according to an application filed with city planners Tuesday.

Zuckerberg bought the homes on Hamilton Avenue and Edgewood Drive in 2013 after he learned of a developer's plan to build a house next door tall enough to have a view of Zuckerberg's master bedroom.

Concerned about privacy, Zuckerberg paid more than $30 million total for the properties at 1462 Edgewood Drive and 1451, 1457 and 1459 Hamilton in the Crescent Park neighborhood.

WOW! $30 million for 4 houses?! Hey marky mark. Maybe some curtains for your mbr would have been cheaper. Or maybe he'll have one for glenn beck and another for s.e. cupp. I guess it's good to be the king.

Glenn Beck will be given a small room in the basement of one of the new homes. He will be fed twice a day. He will be given free bags of Cheetos.

Move out to the country there Mark. Or are you afraid of catapillers and garter snakes.

He might take notice of a D-9 Cat coming through his wall headed for the mbr. :)

Concerned about privacy, unless it is a women’s bathroom or locker room. Another liberal exposed as a hypocrite of epic proportions.

WOW! $30 million for 4 houses?!

Progressives insist that "spreading the wealth" is a good thing.

I can't think of a better example...

Trickle-down wealth distribution, a good thing. Capitalism is great!

You anti capitalists are destroying the united states. Complaining about a guy who made his own money and buying up some homes to make his quality of life enjoyable. Hillary appreciates you a lot for doing her job for her.

Palo Alto needs some of those Obama zoning regulations. Zukie needs some low-income vermin as neighbors.

Hmm, what's going on in that bedroom that can't be obscured by shades or curtains?

I think he had a big payday when Facebook became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

But, I too, am confused, as to why Facebook is worth anything as a business. Is it because of pop up ads???

Forgive my ignorance; neither I or anybody I know do Facebook,, so don’t know anything about how they operate.

But have wondered, if it’s a free site to users, how exactly do they make any money?

There’s a critical shortage of housing in Palo Alto (I work there), and small shacks can go for well over $2M. Zuckerberg’s hypocrisy is breathtaking - he is contributing to that housing shortage by denying housing to 4 families while he lectures the Bay Area on the need for affordable housing, all while surrounding himself with a policed perimeter for his property that he thinks the US border should not have.

Let me guess, open-borders Mark will surround his property with a fence.

Gasp!

I don’t care what anyone does with their own money, but the irony here is what makes this a story.

They gather personal information, preferences, likes, etc and then aggregate it by demographics, age, gender and sell it.
