NRA Endorses Donald Trump for President

The National Rifle Association has endorsed Donald Trump for president at today's convention.

Chris Cox, the executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, made the endorsement immediately before Trump walked on stage.

"Now is the time to unite. If your preferred candidate dropped out of the race, it's time to get over it," Cox said earlier in his remarks.

The news of the endorsement came shortly before Trump addressed the group at their convention in Kentucky.

Trump talked about "crooked Hillary" and said that Clinton is "anti-gun," claiming that she plans to take away guns if she is elected. He also spoke about how situations like the mass shooting in San Bernardino could be avoided if more people had guns.

"The Second Amendment is under a threat like never before," Trump said. "Crooked Hillary Clinton is the most anti-gun... candidate ever to run for office. And as I said before, she wants to abolish the second amendment. She wants to take your guns away. She wants to abolish it," he said.

He also reiterated his policy promise to eliminate gun free zones, which currently exist at certain schools and at military bases.

What, was someone expecting a Hillary endorsement?

Seriously, this is good news. The ‘beast will run with it, purposely highlighting the difference between her and Trump, which will work substantially for Trump. After all, who many anti-gun types are Trump supporters? Where’s the upside for Hillary there? OTOH, many millions of pro-gun voters are sitting on the sidelines (like always, this never ceases to amaze and disgust me), and maybe having Shrillary come out 100% anti-gun while condemning Trump for being pro-gun will get them off of their arses.

Fantastic. Now I can pick up the phone when the NRA calls me again. I have been getting a ton of phone calls lately but I have been holding off. I will tell them how much I support their endorsement of Trump and I will make a donation in his name. By the way I have an NRA credit card which I use regularly and they get a donation every month from me in that manner. I have been an NRA member for around 35 years now.

I think that this sort of helps seal the deal. I believe that this endorsement is very important, to Conservatives, and will coax some uncommitted to come on over. Besides, HRC is in a death spiral....

There are a lot of new American gun buyers in the past 7 years.

They need to be reminded that Heartless Clintoon and the Obama left overs, if she becomes our Potus will take away and restrict our guns.
