Despite reports to the contrary, Ben Carson still advising Trump on possible VPs

Ben Carson is still advising Donald Trump as his campaign ramps up its search and vetting process for a running mate, a Trump campaign source said Tuesday, despite a top aide to the retired neurosurgeon claiming Carson had stepped away from the process.

Williams said while Carson "doesn't want a position" or a "title," he would continue to advise Trump on vice presidential picks as needed.

"He's an adviser. I just think he's in a better position where he's not pigeonholed," Williams said, though Carson had never been given a formal title to account for his role in the Trump campaign's vice presidential search.

.... I kinda have a feeling that having Carson heading the hunt is a way of vetting him for the position.

Possible — that is exactly how it worked with Bush and Cheney.

Carson is definitely an asset.

Boy, that has to be one long meeting.

Carson is definitely a gifted surgeon, good dude.

Back deal money probably. He’s in place to help the image.

[Carson is definitely an asset.]

I’d scrutinize any CARSON recommendation very closely.

Donald Trump listens to Ben Carson when he wants to take a nap.
That guy did not need a anesthesiologist when operating. He talked the patient to sleep...... drone.... drone..... Zzzzz......

Carson would not make a good veep at all for many practical reasons.

Besides, he seems to float here, float there, float anywhere...good at soft words, unflappable, humble and smart...but never wired into any robust energy, personal dynamics or tough leadership/deal-making assests needed in the VP job.

I can see your point — maybe Carson is a good guy, but a bit too naïve that he would end up with someone on his own staff promoting Farrakhan.

But I am sure he is capable of learning and becoming more discerning.

I wish people would stop confusing loudness and “energy” for toughness.

Ever hear of “strong and silent type”?

Geesh, if people always got to witness politicians live on TV while thinking like that, Washington himself would never have been elected. Doesn’t talk enough, isn’t loud and brash enough, doesn’t throw out insults...phooey!

Me too, although we don’t need a daily update from CNN as to who’s doing what, who called whom, etc.

Why doesn’t Trump break all the rules and have a coalition of VPs ???

I like Carson too....but I don’t think he could handle the DC gang....Trump needs someone who knows their way around that swamp.

Remember he did bitch slap Obamahole at that prayer breakfast.

Chewbacca (Michelle) would have cut his throat if she could have got to him. I will never forget her evil stare as he spoke.

I don’t think there is a nano chance of Carson for VP. Trump is just giving him busy work to keep Carson happy so he will continue endorsing him. Carson is a screwball who actually said the other day that Trump would consider a Democrat for VP. Trump had to come out the next day and correct him.
