Rhode Island Poll:
90% of Female Voters Reject Senator Ted Cruz

For the past several weeks Senator Ted Cruz has been running a presidential campaign based on a strategy to ‘win despite the voters’. The latest Brown University poll (full pdf below) of Rhode Island voters highlights why.

The Brown U Poll shows Donald Trump with a lead of 38%, Governor Kasich second with 25% and Ted Cruz in dead last with only 14% support.

The poll surveyed a random sample of 600 registered Rhode Island voters who are likely to vote in the presidential primaries. It was conducted April 19 to 21 and has an overall margin of error of 4 percent.

However, the 19 Rhode Island delegates are distributed proportionally (13 by state vote count, and six by the two congressional districts’ vote count) with a minimum threshold of 10% to get any delegates; so even with only 14% it is possible for Senator Cruz to pick up a few delegates.

If the voting result outcome on Tuesday resembles the polled data:

  1. Trump gets approx 9 delegates
  2. Kasich gets approx. 6 delegates
  3. Cruz gets approx. 4 delegates

Ted Cruz is headed for multiple last place finishes on Tuesday.

Ted Cruz's campaign is as dead as a doornail. How much longer will he keep going through the motions?

As long as his GOPe masters tell him to, that's how long...

Vote Trump

Cruz is 3rd and 4th place in so many states yet he think he’s entitled to be the nominee

And 86% of men oppose him on the same line in the poll.

Conservatives don’t do well in liberal states, especially blue states that are unwinnable in the general election.

Cruz doesn't care about votes.

It's cheaper to just bribe delegates:

Very interesting.

Look at the last section of data, with the percentage support for each candidate by income level.

Look at the data. CRUZ has the highest support in the lowest two income groups. Look at the data. Crus has the highest support in the second-lowest income bracket. The second-highest support in the lowest income bracket.

Trump’s and Kasich’s, seem much more evenly matched.

I had been hearing that Trump’s was not distributed so evenly. What I am seeing from that data, is the CRUZ has the most supporters in the very lowest income brackets.

Interesting, that.

I've observed on a few posts that voters are more informed this year. It's evidenced by turnout at rallies by those who reject business as usual. The correlations between poll data and recent campaign-related activities supports that same hypothesis.

Cruz has his highest numbers from the lowest income groups. It wouldn't be surprising if those very lowest income groups are the least likely to be up-to-date on the nuances of delegate manipulation and about the context of some of Cruz's rather irrational criticisms of Trump. What I'm saying? Maybe those remaining supporters just don't know any better, so they still support Cruz.

(Yeah, I know, that's harsh, catty and mean)

I noticed that 50% of black/African American said Kasich; 50% undecided. Makes me wonder if the other half aren’t Trump but didn’t want to say.
