Pro-Trump Group Calls for Protest in Cleveland During GOP Convention
CNS News ^ | 4/19/16 | Barbara Hollingsworth

A pro-Trump group called Stop the Steal is calling for a protest “March on Cleveland” – which it describes as “four days of non-violent demonstrations, protests, and lobbying delegates face to face” – to prevent the Republican Party from nominating a candidate other than Donald Trump as its presidential standard bearer.

The group is arranging for buses and temporary housing, including group homes and empty dormitory rooms at two local colleges, to bring Trump supporters “from all over America” to Cleveland during the GOP convention in July.

During a speech in Syracuse, N.Y. on Saturday, Trump claimed that the delegate system “is all rigged,” and warned the Republican National Committee (RNC) that if it does not change its nomination rules, "you’re going to have a rough July at that convention."

“These are our days of rage,” said Roger Stone, a longtime political consultant who “played a key role in the election of Republican presidents from Richard Nixon to Ronald Reagan to George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush,” according to his website.

During an April 4 interview with Freedomain Radio host Stefan Molyneux, Stone said his group intends to “disclose the hotels and the room numbers” of GOP delegates to the convention.

“We’ll tell you who the culprits are,” he said.

“So the fix is in,” said Stone.  “If Trump does not run the table on the rest of the primaries and caucuses, we’re looking at a very, very narrow path in which the kingmakers go all out to cheat, steal and to snatch this nomination from the candidate who is overwhelmingly selected by the voters.

“Which is why I have urged Trump supporters: Come to Cleveland. March on Cleveland. Join us in the Forest City,” Stone told Molyneux.

“We’re going to have protests, demonstrations,” said Stone. “We will disclose the hotels and the room numbers of those delegates who are directly involved in the steal.”

”If you’re from Pennsylvania, we’ll tell you who the culprits are. We urge you to visit their hotel and find them. You have a right to discuss this if you voted in the Pennsylvania primary, for example, and your votes are being disallowed,” he said.

Stone acknowledged in an April 12 article he wrote for Breitbart and later posted on his StoneZone website that he is one of the organizers of Stop the Steal.

Last month, he also told GQ during an interview that he has “worked for Trump for almost forty years, on and off,” and is still in regular contact with the Manhattan billionaire, speaking with Trump “from time to time.

Stone predicted that “the big steal happens even if Donald Trump hits the magic 1,237” – the number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination - due to what he called “Trojan horse delegates”.

“These ‘Trump’ delegates give the anti-Trump forces a majority on questions of rules, credentials and platform all of which must be ratified or rejected by the full convention before the First ballot for President. This is where the big steal will take place,” Stone wrote.

“We at Stop the Steal, the grassroots uprising and March on Cleveland, will ask every Trump delegate to the Republican convention to sign a pledge that ‘they will remain committed to vote for the winner of the primary or caucus as chosen by the voters (Donald J. Trump)’ through the entire balloting process,” he wrote.

On Monday, Stone tweeted  that “Asking @realDonaldTrump delegates to sign a loyalty pledge on all ballots is neither harassment or violent.”

Stone previously told Breitbart News on April 2 that the March on Cleveland would be “a reverse Saul Alinsky,” adding that “only mass demonstrations and adept maneuvering inside the hall are going to prevent” the RNC from denying Trump the nomination.

“So I am urging Trump supporters and those who are in favor of a nationalist agenda, as opposed to all the other candidates in the Republican Party who are globalists, to come to Cleveland,” said Stone.  “Take a bus, hitchhike, drive, fly, walk if you have to. We need you in Clinton. [sic] We need you in Cleveland. Come to the Forest City.

“We need an enormous show of strength and we need to show that we’re not going to stand for it,” he said. “We plan three days of rallies and protests to show that the will of the people will not be denied….”

“So that is the plan,” said Stone.  “It’s a reverse Saul Alinksy. These are our days of rage. We’re not putting up with it.”

The RNC’s Official Guide to the 2016 Republican Nominating Process, published last October, states that each state party “assigns its delegates according to its own rules in consultation with the RNC and according to its location in the primary calendar.

In an April 15 memo, RNC chief strategist Sean Spicer defended the delegate selection process, stating that “whether delegates are awarded through a primary, caucus or convention, this process is democracy in action and driven by grassroots voters across the country.”

In a video posted online, RNC chief operating officer Sean Cairncross explains that “most of the delegates are bound to certain candidates based on the results of their primaries, caucuses or state conventions. But most are only bound during the first ballot of voting.

“If voting goes [to] the second ballot, the majority of bound delegates now become unbound and can vote their personal preference,” said Cairncross.

Then you have this guy, Glenn Forbes (no relation to Malcolm Forbes or Steve Forbes or Forbes magazine), who is radical enough to make Roger Stone seem totally normal. For example:
3. Discard The Word Peaceful. Peaceful to these leaders means “We can do whatever the hell we want without having to worry about any meaningful reper-cussions.” It’s exactly what they’re banking on so they can go about their America-destroying, pocket-lining ways. We can begin the movement peacefully, but without the cloud of more aggressive actions hanging over their heads, I doubt anything will change, and they’ll continue to sit back and laugh at how weak and docile we are.
Posting the above does not constitute endorsement of the tactics endorsed by the author of that article

This same article has "Forbes" supporting collecting the names and photos of delegates' children, holding protests outside their homes, and physically blocking their ability to make it to the convention in Cleveland.

Good! Trump winning 35 states, 1200 delegates and 10 million votes should not even result in a question as to the nominee should be.

Speaking of which, it reminds one of the election of 1800, when it was Jefferson threatening the other campaigns (Adams, Burr, and Pinckney) that there would likely be violence if he weren't elected. Virginia threatened to secede, etc.

Meanwhile, the Federalists said they'd call another Constitutional convention if they lost.

The election was deadlocked, so it went to the House, where it was also deadlocked until after 30 or so ballots, the one Congressman from Delaware changed his vote from Federalist to "abstain" and Jefferson won. Jefferson then said there was never any threat of violence, and he left in place most Federalist appointees and the National Bank Hamilton had set up.

Every state had its own way of choosing the electors whose job it was to cast their vote for President. Some states were proportional, others winner-take-all, and all the colors in between.

(Levin read from a Smithsonian book on this election on his show tonight. If you love Levin or hate him for his Cruzitude, it was fascinating to hear how little elections have changed.)

We could start seeing the kind of thing that allegedly happened in Tennessee earlier this month:

State GOP Chairman Ryan Haynes on Saturday told The Tennessean there were even "death threats" from Trump supporters in advance of the committee's gathering. State GOP Executive Director Brent Leatherwood said one threat, which came over social media, "involved trying to hang people."

There was no violence, although lots of angry rhetoric and ruffled feathers, as Trump and some Ted Cruz supporters on the committee sought in vain to force revisions of the delegate list.

State Executive Committee members voted 40-25 for the slate prepared by Haynes and his staff with the "advice" but — under a previously unnoticed 2013 rule change — not the "consent" of the Trump or Cruz campaigns.

Limbaugh and Levin have been willing to sacrifice their reputations and careers in order to defend and continue the GOPe.

The least I can do is sacrifice a few days to help tear it down.

I may very well see Cleveland this July.

Sadly yes. Cruz wants to steal it from trump even though voters clearly didn’t want Cruz.

As long as it is adults against adults I’m fine with reasonable rowdiness on the edges of the law.. that’s just politics. Hanging people is probably still illegal in Tennessee but hyperbole isn’t.

the GOP are delusional.
If a guy has only won just 4 states, came last in three swing states, never won a single county in FL, VA and is way behind with voters then how the hell can any sane person think that guy is the better guy to take Clinton on?

One would have to be insane and even a mental midget can understand the guy who get the votes, gets the states, gets the swing states, is stronger to run.
