After 2000, with the whole Bush/Gore thing, I really thought both parties would push for a more foolproof election process. But they didn’t.

I think both parties like a process that can be gamed as needed.

But I wonder if President Trump will at least push for a very different Republican primary system. This one is very flawed and could be easily fixed.

A good primary system would be to force proportional primaries on all (IE: no winner-take-all), no superdelegates, and petition states that have open primaries to go back to closed primaries.

I believe the Bush/Gore recount was to make us believe our votes actually counted. Lots of people were starting to doubt until that fiasco. It was all for show.
