Donald Trump hires veteran GOP operative Rick Wiley
Washington Post ^ | April 13 at 3:50 PM | By Philip Rucker

Posted on 04/13/2016 1:24:55 PM PDT by dynoman

The Trump campaign said Wednesday that Rick Wiley — who has more than two decades of experience in state and national politics and most recently served as campaign manager for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s presidential bid — is joining the operation as national political director.

“Rick is a seasoned political expert with a very successful career in winning elections,” Trump said in a news release. “He brings decades of experience, and his deep ties to political leaders and activists across the country will be a tremendous asset as we enter the final phase of securing the nomination.”

Wiley said in the same release, “Voters are frustrated with the political status quo in our country and are hungry for an outsider to shake up Washington. Donald Trump has energized millions of hard working people across the country with his no-nonsense straight talk and will bring his record of success to tackle the real problems that face our nation.”

Wisconsin was not winnable. The governor there is still popular as a damsel-in-distress figure to the voters who hate the unions and teacher unions more than they want to dump the damsel for an outsider.

The governor was upset with Trump not because of anything Trump said about him. He was angry because he was leading and then as Trump threw his hat into the ring, Walker started to decline as voters gathered to Trump.

So Walker looked at Trump like most ambitious politicians who are displaced by a bigger figure would look. Walker was the ‘cool’ young looking RFK type of candidate and when Trump’s overwhelming message drowned young Walker out of the running, Walker slinked away because his PAC support drifted away leaving him with massive debt.

And Walker blamed all on that NYer who had the resonating message of borders, immigration reform, jobs, trade, banking, healthcare, unabashed 2nd Amendment support and on and on, Trump overwhelmed Walker and everyone else in the ring. But Walker had debts and was abandoned by PACs due to his declining performance.

The only thing Walker had left was the support of his Wisconsinites, especially the college crowd kids. He had support from Madison to Milwaukee all the way up the corridor to Green Bay. That’s all he had left to trade in return for an assist to retire his campaign debt.

So Ted Cruz comes into town and asks Walker’s help to deliver Wisconsin to him. But Walker asks for help to pay off debt. Cruz didn’t have the funds for Walker but made a call to the GOP Establishment aka Romney who is the money wrangler. Romney gets sources to pledge to take out a chunk of Walker’s debt from sources like Mexico to take out Trump, and tells Cruz to hold fundraisers for Walker.

Walker endorsed Cruz, Romney’s anti-Trump MoneyPACs went full throttle on ad buys to whip up Wisconsinites against Trump, and Cruz ended up violating FEC law by coordinating with his PACS that were linked to Romney’s money sources.

Donald Trump saw all of this and was waiting for Walker to make his move. As soon as Walker endorsed Cruz, Donald made the decision to campaign in the outlying areas, small towns, farm belt and win some delegates. Trump’s delegate mathematician Barry Bennett had already mapped the 1237+ delegate path without any delegates from Wisconsin, ZERO were factored in. But Donald wisely plotted a realistic hit and run on areas where Walker was not such a teen icon and he ended up winning 6 delegates, which were actually bonus delegates to the delegate map.

Scott Riley could not have done a thing about Wisonsin. It was lost because an immature governor with a High School education could not see past a petty vindictive fixation on Donald Trump. Like a high school drama queen who was not asked to the prom because another girl was picked, Walker plotted his petty damsel-in-distress revenge,

Walker wouldn’t last two week in Marine Corps bootcamp.

He’s a pussy,

You don’t know anything about the dynamic in Cruz’s organization. You are just fantasizing.

We know his “Ground-Game” began after he called Bush Dynasty for help after getting his ass handed to him in the south. And that the majority of his “delegates” hes wrangling are State party people.

Did you know, if you watched the video you shared yesterday, that in 1979 Reagan actually got the ball rolling with a trade agreement with Canada? minute 2:19.

GLOBALIST!

We all know DT is not a conservative, so be careful what you wish for. Building a wall doesn’t mean there won’t be trade. PRIVATE businesses. Not government regulated. You know the drill.

DT builds in other nations. Why not just here? Oh, that’s right it costs 35k to join country clubs these days and most of his supporters wouldn’t be able to join. They can get a free week there though if they become a delegate!/s

You “know” he called the Bush Dynasty how, exactly? You are still making things up.

When Jeb dropped out, of course the professional campaign staff started looking for new gigs on their own.

Trump just didn’t realize he needs them then, so Cruz hired the ones he wanted. Now Trump is trying to staff up.

I do not think he is a conservative or a liberal, hes Trump. And he loves America and can do something to try to reverse our course of destruction.

Nope, but you are off on tangents rather than defending the points I made about this article.

You have yet to rebut that Cruz is both establishment then and now as well as a Globalist.

we all read it. You showed lawyer optics for perception but in no way did you counter his establishment history or his actions as a Globalist.

Trump hired these guys to tell him how to navigate the election. He did n o t hire them to do what he has been doing. He hired them f or their expertise. Therefore he has turned into a GOP insider according to many of his supporters. If they have any credibility at all, they have to now support another candidate.
I personally think it is a smart move by Trump and way overdue. It's the only way he can win the delegate election. But because a use he chose to run a “ republican “ this time instead of third-party like reform party - he HAS to become a regular GOPe insider and hire GOPe insiders, and therefore he is now exactly what many of his supporters have railed against Cruz and others.
So I guess they can maybe support Bernie now. He certainly isn't beholden to the party or the machine. Ha.

And if he secures the republican nomination, I bet he hires some Democrat insiders. And his supporters will be ok with that too. And frankly,it would be smart.
