Students at Ohio State University who attempted to occupy the area outside of president Michael V. Drake’s office late Wednesday night experienced a surprise — and a taste of the cruel, real world — when a senior administrator coolly advised them that they would be arrested and expelled if they didn’t retreat from their “occupied space.”
The protest began — as such protests often do these days — with a set of demands and the promise to remain firmly ensconced at Bricker Hall, Ohio State’s main administration building, until school officials capitulated to the demands.

they all got a month in jail and suspended.
A few years ago, Inwas dating a woman who’s son was one of these protestor types at Rutgers. They pulled a similar stunt such as this, but Rutgers wussed out and decided to acquiesce to their demands by meeting with them at a later date and then giving them some phony sense of accomplishment by allowing Student Senate votes. Bravo OSU.
I’m not going to click on the link. What were the snowflakes demanding? Heated toilet seats? Massage tables in the reference library? Guraranteed A’s?
You mean it is that easy to deal with these people? Who could have imagined?

Or instead of expulsion, threaten to transfer them from Columbus to Lima campus :P

Well lookin’ back at B’more, we all KNOW what happens in the back of Paddy wagons.
IMO, it was a very astute and effective means the administration used against these student loan, grant and privilege babies who cry about ‘THEIR safe spaces’ turning the tables on them and telling them employees in the building ‘felt threatened.’
Kudos! The babies were only left with the option to bleat out “we wouldn’t hurt a flea.” Blah, blah, blah.
Reminds me of the old S.W.I.N.E. (Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything) Li’l Abner cartoon from forty five years ago.
Students take over the university. Fainthearted school administrators back off, then sell the university to Organized Crime, the MOB.
S.W.I.N.E. stage a protest about something, and after all these years I still get a thrill remembering when the Hippie front tooth met the Mob Enforcer’s Brass knuckles.

Expel first, don’t negotiate later. Let the expulsion show on their permanent record.
I don’t get it. So they just got up and left? Of COURSE they’re going to threaten to do that. I can’t believe they would have just said ok and gone along with it. University probably capitulated to all the demands.
Instead of four dead in Ohio, we have butthurt in Ohio.
It’s similar to the best philosophy to be used in a riot: break and make. Break heads; make arrests. It’s kinder, because you end up with fewer injuries and less property damage.
