“A number of things turned me from Cruz to Trump: The absolute psychotic hate by the elite crowd.”
Well, my opinion is this...I don’t claim to be one, but have spent some time around rich and famous people by being a “family member” at a really good club. What REALLY stands out about this story is;
a. He noticed the guy.
b. He took time to engage him.
c. He invited him to play with himself and others.
d. He never mentioned it to anyone as far as I know.
Pretty rare for a mega-wealthy owner and member to bring a guy like this along. A lot of people in Trump’s league would NOT have done all of this. The guy was way past his prime, had tried the professional game and gave it up and was not exactly a hot prospect.
Look for his interview after he won the Shell. He was an absolute warrior on the back nine, being chased by a couple of the best active players in the world.

This tells you something about the guy.
I didnt know he had a connection with Trump until the
announcers talked about well into the round.

He wears TRUMP on his shirts, etc while on the courses.
Yah! Ask Corey just how boorish and sleazy Trump is.
Yes, and all those he helped while being the Christian the Bible says by not telling others about his deeds. Trump has done much good for many.
“He wears TRUMP on his shirts, etc while on the courses.”
You can, too!

NewFreep - Huh! You’ve been around here almost as long as me!
So you’re like Michelson. I’m the opposite - left-handed but play golf right-handed. In baseball, I bat right-handed and throw left-handed. But us lefties are strange that way.
I always wondered about Phil, maybe you can shed light on it. Why does a right-handed person decide to play golf left-handed?
Your link reminded me of Ned Flanders "Left Handed Only" store in the Springfield Mall.
The whole story is awesome, that drive on 18 musta been a knee knocker and he stripped it
Well, I was a newfreep when I registered...
Yep, just like Michelson - my favorite golfer...after Arnie.
Growing up, I was quite the baseball player and had visions of playing in MLB. In fact, I was the best player on my LL team who included a catcher named, Steve Yeager who later played for the Dodgers.
Anyway, as a Cardinal fan my baseball idol was Stan Musial although I only caught his last year or two. He always impressed me as a great player and always humble. He batted left-handed...and so did I.
From a scientific perspective, I’ve read your strongest arm should be on the inside for the most power. So as a leftanded hitter, my strongest was my right and was the inside arm.
So it all worked out.
I was holding my breath on that last putt. An easy putt but nerves can really mess it up.
He actually just said yesterday at one of his rallies that he doesn’t want the presidential salary, and if there’s some law that says he must get paid that he would insist it only be $1.00. I’d like to hear Cruz come out and say the same...
Ok. But as you yourself say, playing left-handed limits your choice in clubs. Still not sure I get it.
Us lefties are the most discriminated-against group on the face of the planet. Left-Handed Lives Matter! So I know how doing anything left-handed will limit you - if you let it.
I didn’t choose to be left-handed, and I’m very amazed and and curious when a rightie decides to play for the other side! LOL
Has said several time he will only take a dollar because he is required to take that !
And his hole-out from the sand on 16 - which put him in the lead to stay - was. simply. awesome!
As I recall there is something about “as you have done to the least of these, My brethren, you have done it unto Me.”
He doesn’t need to look for losers. All he needs to do is shave.
He kept taking his glove on and off waiting to tee off on 18 because he was so nervous. Mrs S screamed when he sunk the 3 footer like it was 10 feet. I did too inside ;o
Never heard the term “journeyman” for a club pro on the tour before, it was very exciting. Cinderella Story it really was.
