Pat Caddell: GOP Establishment ‘Using Cruz as Cats-Paw’ to ‘Nominate an Establishment Figure’
Breitbart ^ | March 31, 2016 | by JOHN HAYWARD

Posted on 03/31/2016 8:40:43 AM PDT by Hojczyk

“It depends on how he recovers, and how the electorate that’s been pushing him recovers,” said Caddell. “There’s a Quinnipiac poll out this morning that shows him with 56% of the vote in New York. He’s never been higher than 30 in Wisconsin, but he’s going back to his home territory. New Jersey is winner-take-all. California is a big campaign.”

If Trump can’t recover and get the delegates he needs, Caddell thought Senator Cruz would likely find himself discarded after the first ballot at the convention, his usefulness to the Party bosses at an end.

“If they can stop Trump, then Cruz will pick up some more on the second ballot… but I don’t think they’re gonna nominate him,” he explained. “I think they will then move to nominate, to try to nominate an Establishment figure, someone who hasn’t run. I think that will blow the Republican Party up.”

Caddell said the GOP Establishment is “terrified of Trump,” and also opposed to Cruz, because “they are worried about their arrangements being broken up, their power.”

He said these Establishment politicians would “absolutely” rather lose the 2016 election to Hillary Clinton than win with Trump or Cruz. Conversely, the voters who have propelled Trump and Cruz to victory over a platoon of more Establishment-approved candidates are unlikely to “reconcile” themselves to an Establishment pick inserted at the Republican National Convention.

” Pat Caddell: GOP Establishment Thinks a Vote for Cruz in Wisconsin Is a Vote for Paul Ryan”

Because they are right!

They control the rules and they are hopelessly crooked.

Not to mention that they have been telling people for weeks that this is their plans!

a vote for cruz is a vote for the establishment, something of which the cruz supporters were proud to say they are anti establishment, how times have changed.

“Let me encourage other members of the establishment: Keep supporting Donald Trump because every time you do it, what it is doing is telling conservatives all over the country is where you stand and who stands with you”.
- Ted Cruz, New Hampshire stump speech

He says exactly what we’ve said for a month. All of this is true. This is why we need trump going in with 1237.

I hope he is/ the establishment is wrong. I’m a Cruz guy, but Ryan is not acceptable — at least not for a few years of “probation” — as a consensus candidate after his traitorous, multi-year surrender on bloated budgets.

As bad as a contested convention would be already, picking someone like Ryan or Romney would make matters even worse. It would have to be a conservative who hadn’t sold out lately, and probably one who didn’t run for Pres OR VP before.

Unfortunatelly Pogo, we have met the enemy and he is the GOPe. You delude yourself if you think that the GOPe would EVER nominate a real conservative. But if they do take the nomination away from Trump (or Cruz), the GOP is finished as a political party. I just feel sorry for the country if they do try to steal the nomination.

"I think that will blow the Republican Party up."

I am very positive that this course of action is what the convention will do, and while it will destroy the Republican Party forever, which is one of the best things that can happen, it will also guarantee the election of the dimmanazi, probably Sanders. The country will not recover.

Where did the idea come from that the GOPe has essentially total control of the 2472 delegates to the convention? Or even total control of 1237 delegates.

I don’t believe that for 2 seconds. Does Trimp believe that? Does Cruz. If so they don’t act like it.

And yes, I acknowledge that this will viewed as an idiotic question by the Trump True Believers.

I think that they just might nominate Cruz. Then they will help destroy him and say,”See? That’s what happens when you conservative rubes get your way!. We’ll take it from here.” The GOPe keeps their perks, probably the House and Senate, and gives a beat down to their real enemy, the base.

As much as I hate to say it, as a Cruz supporter, I believe that the only hope is a decisive Trump win, one that is beyond challenge, at the nomination, but it won’t be over then. He still will have to win the general, and that is dubious.

It’s actually been that way for a month. Results. Cruz won 1 state and Kasick won 1 state. Not exactly successful.

Actually, when you look at the GOPe’s track record, it’s hard to distiguish how they loose, since it doesn’t really matter the politics of their choices every four years. They are simply another of a long line of $hit sandwiches who looe in the general. W didn’t really win twice, his opponents were such loons, they just lost!

Seriously, if the GOPe somehow wrestles the nomination and hands it to Ryan they will lose the presidency, the Senate, and quite possibly the House as well. It will be a bloodbath. I, along with millions of others will comfortably sit home on election day.
