TEL AVIV A news agency known for its close ties to the Islamic State claimed that Israeli aircraft on Tuesday struck outposts of Wilayat Sinai, the ISs branch in the Egyptian Sinai.
With no documentary evidence to back up its claim, the Amaq News Agency reported that seven Israeli drones, war-planes and helicopters bombed targets in the IS-heavy north-eastern Sinai.
Contacted by Brietbart Jerusalem, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces declined to comment, explaining it is the IDFs general policy to refrain from commenting on reports of operations outside the boundaries of Israel and the Gaza Strip.
IS has kept mum on the alleged incident, the agency added, and the number of casualties remains unclear.
Amaq reported in the past that Israeli aircraft previously entered Sinai on reconnaissance missions and have struck IS outposts.
Speaking on Aaron Klein Investigative Radio on Sunday, a leading Islamic State-allied militant claimed it is only a matter of time before the Islamic States branch in the Egyptian Sinai carries out a big operation in the Israeli resort town of Eilat and other parts of southern Israel.
Abu al-Ayna al-Ansari is a well-known Gaza Salafist jihadist allied with Islamic State ideology. During the interview, Ansari seemed to be speaking as an actual IS member, repeatedly using the pronoun we when referring to IS and even making declarations on behalf of IS.
IS has been reluctant to officially declare its presence in Gaza for fear of a Hamas crackdown, but the group is known to be active in the coastal enclave and Ansari is a suspected IS leader. IS-aligned militants have taken responsibility for recent rocket fire from Gaza aimed at Israel.

Were we not assured by President Obama not more than a few months ago that he had ISIS contained to a small region in Syria and Northern Iraq.
Now we find ISIS in Libya, the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, The EU , Yemen. Turkey and a bunch of other places
It is only a matter of time, and it's probably likely that it will happen before Obama leaves office.
Egypt should thank them.
This is why the White Mosque and FOX “News” use
the term ISIL, to try to force the Islamists against Israel,
so hated by Obama and his supporters.
the more islamoNazi terrorist murder gangsters the IDF and anyone else can send to Alluh in Hell, the better for all the rest of us...
Because everyone employs air assets in a gaggle.
Bomb ‘em where they are, I always say.
You don’t fight terrorism on UN terms.. Or Obama’s..
And come out on the long end of the stick..
Makes ya wonder.. Who’s on whose side?
“Egypt should thank them.”
Egyptians were undoubtedly on the ground giving target information.
The Egyptian military is very good and professional, and picked its side 20 years ago.
[ISIS has a Sinai Branch?]
Russian airliner out of Egypt, brought down in the Sinai, was claimed by ISIS as one of their operations.
"The US DEPLORES this Israeli violation of Egyptian sovereignty, but Egypt also has it coming because President Morsi was 'Egypt's First Democratically Elected President'.™
Death to America!"
Not good enough in 1967cough. As you know. ;)
Nonetheless, I once read about 1980’s Operation Bright Star.
“ISIS has a Sinai Branch?”
And even a “moderate” former political party, the MB.
Obama was probably acting on the advice on the White House chapter of ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood when he made the statement
That's the ISIS Double AA Farm Team.
