Donald Trump wants to win the White House this fall. Paul Ryan wants to save his own vision of the Republican Party for the future. […]

… Ryan is appealing for political civility and a party rooted in traditional conservative principles. Trump is bucking campaign decorum and embracing policy positions that are sharply at odds with years of GOP orthodoxy. …

Ryan better watch his back. He’s getting primaried and at this rate he might be out on his ear.

Borders, language, culture.

Those are my Republican issues this year and, guess what?

Between Trump and Ryan it’s Trump who’s talking about them.

Well, there is NO doubt that the GOPe must change since it has been going down in flames in terms of being a resistance party with fight as well as representing the voters that put them in Washington. That MUST change.

So if this is the change Trump is talking about, it MUST happen. And if Ryan is fighting that, he must be changed.

Trump said on the Sykes interview this morning that he had a great conversation with Ryan a few days ago.

And if Trump does become the Republican nominee, he and the House speaker's ability to work together could be the first test of whether a party in turmoil can stay together.

A. Why do we sense that the GOP establishment might dig in heels v. a Republican President while being pure linguine in resisting a Democrat?

B. Ryan will detect turmoil pushing his agenda against his own voters.

I hope Ryan is primaried. Otherwise sane constitutional conservatives might do the unthinkable and not vote for backstabber Ryan in November.

In OH, we've got a situation with Rob Portman. There's no point in saving his Senate seat, even if it means a majority in the US Senate.

Really the GOPe leadership has become a total sham... it become a one issue party...it must protect cheap foreign labor...

the GOP is not an American nationalist conservative party anymore

The GOP will pay some lip service to some social conservative issues and some conservative budget issues

......but its primary drive is economic globalism and internationalism and that directly detrimental to the average American citizen

really the Dem is the party of International socialism
And the GOPe is the party of International crony capitalist

There is NO political party in the United States now that give a damn about the American citizen or The American Nation ....both parties are parasites on the American citizen playing us for fools and trying to suck us dry ...

“Ryan is appealing for political civility and a party rooted in traditional conservative principles.”

I’m going to go out on a limb here, and say that Ryan wants a party rooted in open-borders and never ending wars in the Middle East. Those are the “conservative principles” of the neo-con artists and their open borders toadies who have controlled the republican party for about 30+ years.

Hurray for Ryan’s “party rooted in traditional conservative principles”!

So many of us still fondly remember how Repubicans in Congress with “traditional conservative principles” stood up to Obama and stopped his agenda dead in its tracks by passing a budget that eviscerated his illegal immigration policies, eliminated the energy-destroying EPA, eliminated the Marxist propaganda Education Department, eliminated the job-destroying Labor Department, eliminated the racist Civil Rights Commission, defunded the FCC until they give back control of the Internet to private industry, defunded Obamacare, defunded the Planned Parenthood slaughter, defunded enforcement of 99% of Obama”s regulations and Executive Orders. It was a great day for America when that happened, when Repubicans in Congress with “traditional conservative principles” stopped Obama’s agenda cold.

Given all of these amazing accomplishments by Repubicans in Congress with “traditional conservative principles”, it’s no wonder that the only thing that Freepers and rank-and-file Republicans everywhere care about is getting some more of them elected so that they can continue applying their “traditional conservative principles” to such good effect.

The GOPe never seems to worry about civility when McCain is calling conservatives “whacko birds”, or smearing Chris McDaniel as a racist, or Trent Lott finds his voice to call on Congress to “co-opt” Tea Party candidates who get elected (looks like his strategy worked, there, and where was his “courage” when he couldn’t find words to stand up for complimenting an old man, Strom Thurmond, on his birthday?). They only worry about “civility” (more like servility) when they’re kissing Hussein’s azz, never when they’re dealing with conservatives. Bunch of double-dealing lying cowards.

Paul Ryan’s version of traditional conservative values is mass immigration, amnesty, homosexual marriage, Republicancare (the Republican version of socialized medicine), campaign laws that make it impossible to get rid of politicians that ignore their campaign promises and diverting the treasury to their donors. Personally, I will side with Trump. I don’t think he is a conservative, but he is a lot closer than Ryan.
