Poll Donald Trump leads in California primary race but threatens a GOP fractur
LA LA Times ^ | March 27, 2016 | Cathleen Decker

Riding a rebellion fueled by opposition to illegal immigration and pessimism about the nation's future, Donald Trump leads a scrambling duo of competitors less than three months before California's Republican presidential primary, a new USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times statewide poll has found.

Yet the party whose nomination he is seeking has fractured because of his candidacy, with ominous prospects for Republicans if the New York businessman emerges victorious after the party's summer convention.

A quarter of California Republican voters polled said they would refuse to vote for Trump in November if he is the party's nominee. Almost one-third of those backing Trump's leading competitor, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, said they would not cast a ballot for Trump. Voters who back Trump, meanwhile, are critical of Cruz, with only half holding a favorable impression of him.

No Republican is gonna win California in November. Typical propaganda from the LA Democratic Times.

Yet Trump leads, and those second stringers each are more equipped for a win starting out with a losing support base in the first place?

If only. If only. If only everybody who thinks right in their world will vote for Kasich or Ted and drop that Trump like a bad habit, everything would be alright. Yep...If only.

I wonder how they feel now since the Bimbo Eruptions?

You mean the ones that absolutely nothing have come of?

The ones that were spread by Trumpsters on FR including random gossip, ridiculous youtube videos, etc, etc, and that have gone exactly nowhere?

That stuff is only gonna help Cruz. Whether he is responsible or not, everyone knows Trump runs a sleazy operation and will blame him for this hit job.

By this time in 1980 Reagan was bringing in majorities in many states and winning by wide margins in nearly all of them. My preference is for somebody who’ll handle illegal immigration, thereby limiting my choices to Trump or Cruz, but this does not bode well.

you mean the nonsense story with no proof that is being discredited on news shows already?

good job alienating Cruz people.

because trump isn’t behind by a zillion points against Clinton already.

but you guys have the American pulse.

women LOVE to vote for a guy who say one is not a 10 anymore, one is a fat pig (he was right bout that) and one is bleeding from her everywhere.

shrewd, you folk.

i’ll vote for trump if he gets the nod. many wont.

but you guys have NO forward thinking in your head.

just kill ted and worry about the supporters later

good luck with that.

Trump is speaking for the people. The “Republicans” that will be hurt by his victory are the ones that have turned against the people and govern as Democrats lite after they get elected. That GOPe does not deserve to survive.

How is Cruz going to get elected when his entire campaign is now “Trump is a poopy head?”

Most of them could give a Shiite. Ca's voting percentage is in the dumpster. 10-15% vote in primaries.

says a lot about their passion.

Now we are being told that this huge block of rabid voters will not pull the lever for trump.

Let's try this another way.

The candidate that consistently comes in second, or third, in primaries, will attract more votes than the candidate for the dem.

Simple math, that.

It would be just so much better if we did not have this fractious behavior. We should all just DumpTrump and get behind - oh I’m sorry, who am I supposed to get behind now?

LOL! It hasn’t fractured because of Trump’s candidacy, it’s fractured because the GOP has been crapping on its base for over 30 years.

“but you guys have NO forward thinking in your head.”

Forward thinking like Cruz can’t bring in a single swing state?

Forward thinking like Cruz’s nutty politi-vangelist schtick will give Hillary the easiest victory in history ?

Forward thinking like Cruz’s likeability among women was already the lowest of all GOP candidates, and now that he’s been outed as just another philandering religious fraud his numbers will be in negative territory ?
