My goodness, it looks like a disproportionate number of victims were Americans. Were they on a tour, or something?
Ground zero at the airport was the American Airlines counter. They knew what they were doing.
IIRC, the bombs were detonated near an American Airlines check-in, which would have a larger proportion of Americans than, say, Lufthansa.
Attack an airport and you'll likely have foreign victims and family members who were standing next to each other.
Ground zero # 1 was the American Airlines/ Delta airline checkin areas
Ground zero,# 2 was the metro stop a block from the U.S. embassy

I hadn't heard this, so did some research using addresses & maps of Brussels & such. The US embassy is actually about 5 blocks from the bombed Maelbeek metro stop on Rue de la Loi. Still close of course, but major EU buildings are much closer.
