The great majority of movie reviewers lean far left politically, so when they sneeringly dismiss a new Hollywood action thriller as “terror exploitation,” “racist, “jingoistic,” “terror porn,” “outrageously propagandistic,” “anti-Muslim xenophobia” and “the perfect movie for Donald Trump’s America,” then you can take that as a strong recommendation for getting to the cinema.
The Gerard Butler action vehicle London Has Fallen opened recently and reviewers are panning it as brutal, cheesy, implausible, and clichéd. Apparently those reviewers are unfamiliar with the genre or feel it is beneath them, because it is generally the nature of action thrillers to be brutal, cheesy, implausible, and clichéd. Moviegoers aren’t drawn to action thrillers for their slice-of-life realism or cinematic aesthetics; they want a two-hour dose of escapist adrenalin, an action-packed, over-the-top fun ride, and on that score London Has Fallen satisfies. The audience I saw it with on opening day applauded at the end.

It’s totally implausible that the u.k. could be thoroughly infested with Muslims who reject their culture, breed like rabbits, and bomb the local population into submission.
I thought “Olympus Has Fallen” was a great movie.
Multiple major terrorist attacks in a major European city, all by Muslim terrorists? That is implausible. It shouldn’t be allowed in a movie (or on the evening news - AGAIN).
There used to be no hesitation in using film to skewer our enemies.
These frackers. When the Serbs were demonized as the de jour bad guys for the purpose of film exploitation during Clinton’s reign of lawlessness i don’t remember these dumbazzes coming to their “defense”.
I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It was brutal, cheesy, implausible, and clichéd...and pretty entertaining as well.

To end WWII and save the lives of perhaps another hundred thousand or more American troops, we dropped nukes on two Japanese cities directly killing over a quarter of a million men, women, CHILDREN and BABIES, nearly all of them CIVILIANS who just happened to be governed by a gang of militaristic maniacs bent on dominating the world. Many more of them perished in the months and years following. Some of those civilians probably disagreed with their rulers but they died just the same.
And our historically ignorant citizens have forgotten the February, 1945 FIREBOMBING of Dresden as the war in Europe was winding down. In what has correctly been called vindictive “payback” for the London Blitz, the allies suffocated and incinerated more than 150,000 mainly civilian German men, woman, children and babies. An exact count of the dead could never he determined as most of the bodies were reduced to ashes. .
How do THOSE situations differ from how we should deal with with the muslim murderers? And, if it came to it, would we get grief from the OTHER nuclear powers, Russia and China – who ALSO have problems with muslim murderers of their own?
All those dead Japanese and German CIVILIANS are today called “collateral damage”.
And if the Pakistanis who also have nukes and and have been siding with the murderers for decades – even SHELTERING BIN LADEN! – take active exception to our making Raqqah and Mosul – and now, thanks to Clinton’s destabilization of Libya, parts of that country as well – glow in the dark, we probably have a few nukes – and incendiary devices – in the arsenal with their name on them.
I wrote a movie review here on FR. Pretty good, but not as good as the less believable “Olympus Has Fallen.”
My main grips is that there were too many bad guys (1-800-Henchman) and they were way, way too coordinated.
Contrast with the reception of “The Sum of All Fears” about which reviewers raved - but, oh, dear, the Bad Guys were Nazis, not moslems.
Not that it makes a difference, of course...
Is it better or worse than “Delta Force”? That’s all I really need to know...
