Lamenting the Right Wing in Europe
Townhall.com ^ | March 23, 2016 | Brent Bozell

The smoke hasn't even cleared from the airport in Brussels, and already the press is issuing its typical lament: This will only stoke Europe's right wing and spread rampant Islamophobia.

NBC's Richard Engel complained on the "TODAY" program, "We're already seeing the rise of the right wing. We're already seeing rise of hate attacks, where people will use the kind of terrorist attacks, these kinds of incidents, to vilify all of the Muslim community. Which, of course, only makes the situation worse, because then people feel isolated, ostracized, ghettoized, and they retreat into their own communities." NBC's Andrea Mitchell, cited gains for right-wing parties in recent German regional elections.

But what would be unreasonable about Europeans responding to Islamic jihad movements by restraining the immigration of large groups of Muslim refugees? Why isn't it considered irrational to carefully decide who's allowed to enter your country? Why can't people imagine that restricting immigration might prevent terrorists from getting in?

Earlier in the show, NBC correspondent Tom Costello (who has family members in Belgium) spoke for those who are seen as right-wing people who vilify Muslims. It was a welcome departure from the norm.

"I think if you talk to Belgians, and I know many of them because they're family members, they will tell you that over the last 20-25 years they have felt like they are losing their country," he said. "They have felt like because Belgium has such an open immigration policy over the last half-century, in which they have really allowed almost anybody, especially from these areas that are now breeding terrorism, they've allowed these people to come in as refugees, and yet, many of them are not being thoroughly vetted."

His opinion was the exception to the rule. By midmorning, NBC's Savannah Guthrie asked Christopher Dickey of The Daily Beast how Europe can balance a natural fear with a desire for normalcy. Dickey responded, "There already was rampant Islamophobia in this part of the world. And now you have a situation where people who were not inclined to look suspiciously at Arabs and Muslims, now they're terrified."

Dickey also wrote about the matter on The Daily Beast. He references Islamic radical Abu Musab al-Suri, who laid out a strategy to go after Europe 10 years ago, calling it the "soft underbelly of the West." Al-Suri believed that acts of terror would create divisions, dissent and Islamophobia in society, leading to "a civil war where the forces of Islam eventually would be victorious." In other words, Dickey and the media believe that it is ideal for ISIS if the right wing takes the bait and unleashes division and hate.

With that, you arrive at the Obamaland foreign policy: Decry and do nothing.

It's not a hate crime to resist this unholy war on innocent civilians; it's a crime not to. Our national media is an obstacle to getting the upper hand in this battle -- it is constantly kvetching about how these attacks are somehow more unfair to the public-relations image of Islam than they are to the people who've been blown to pieces in an airport or train station

“We’re already seeing rise of hate attacks..”

referring to right-wingers NOT the terrorists.

Unfortunately, the European right wing is NOT made up of American-style Biblicist conservatives.

But yes, I understand that the Left can only see one enemy. It's pathetic. Isn't it something that moslem atrocities are never "hate attacks?"

Islamophobia - fear of Islam, fear of being maimed or killed by Islamists. Islamists just maimed or killed hundreds of people in Brussels and somehow people who fear for their own safety are the bad guys...

We're already seeing rise of hate attacks, where people will use the kind of terrorist attacks, these kinds of incidents, to vilify all of the Muslim community.

I've been tracking "hate" attacks, and so far the number from Christians is essentially zero. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the first World Trade Center attack. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the Spanish train attacks. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the London Underground attacks. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the Boston Marathon attacks. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the first Paris attacks. There was no anti-Muslim backlash after the second Paris attacks. There is, so far, no anti-Muslim backlash after the Brussels attacks.

There is no anti-Muslim backlash - that's not how Christians act until they are backed into a corner. Perhaps European Christians will now realize that with a few million fit Muslim men of military age entering their countries without resistance and attacking their residents (both with firearms/explosives and with rape), they are now in a corner, but I have not yet seen any physical backlash against the very long string of violent attacks.

When all else fails the left will blame Jews/Israel. Lamenting “if only those issues were resolved Muslims would like us.” Frankly, I’m surprised they aren’t there yet.

Retreating into their own communities is the PROBLEM. All immigration should stress assimilation and loyalty. Remember when you actually had to know something about the country you were moving to? Blame the liberals for dividing us to form voting blocs.

You know what is stoking the fires of “right wing anti-immigrant sentiment”?

Inviting in “immigrants” that want to both change the prevalent native culture in a non-constructive way and some of them who want to kill the people in the native culture.

So europe is feeling guilty about it’s past colonialism, so what do they do? They want to self inflict worse wounds on themselves with no end in sight...

It troubles me to say it but the EUROWEENIES are hoist on their own petard!

There’s only one way to deal with these muslim killers: BOMB THE CRAP OUT OF THEM!

To end WWII and save the lives of perhaps another hundred thousand or more American troops, we dropped nukes on two Japanese cities directly killing over a quarter of a million men, women, CHILDREN and BABIES, nearly all of them CIVILIANS who just happened to be governed by a gang of militaristic maniacs bent on dominating the world. Many more of them perished in the months and years following. Some of those civilians probably disagreed with their rulers but they died just the same.

And our historically ignorant citizens have forgotten the February, 1945 FIREBOMBING of Dresden as the war in Europe was winding down. In what has correctly been called vindictive “payback” for the London Blitz, the allies suffocated and incinerated more than 150,000 mainly civilian German men, woman, children and babies. An exact count of the dead could never he determined as most of the bodies were reduced to ashes. .

How do THOSE situations differ from how we should deal with with the muslim murderers? And, if it came to it, would we get grief from the OTHER nuclear powers, Russia and China – who ALSO have problems with muslim murderers of their own?

All those dead Japanese and German CIVILIANS are today called “collateral damage”.

And if the Pakistanis who also have nukes and and have been siding with the murderers for decades – even SHELTERING BIN LADEN! – take active exception to our making Raqqah and Mosul – and now, thanks to Clinton’s destabilization of Libya, parts of that country as well – glow in the dark, we probably have a few nukes – and incindiary devices – in the arsenal with their name on them.

they will tell you that over the last 20-25 years they have felt like they are losing their country

That is because they are, just as we are here in the US and country after country in the West. We were sold and bought into a bill of goods that whites are evil and multiculturalism is good for us. A 'strength'.

We're already seeing rise of hate attacks

The only hate attacks I see are coming from the Muslims. Killing 30 innocents and wounding 200+ more is not hate according to the leftist politicians and the lickspittle media.

The only “hate attacks” in Europe are being done by the Muslim scum. The Eurotrash socialists/Marxist/elites have made their beds with the Muslims and they will not be denied a Muslim Caliphate in the new Eurarabia. The average European is going to have to fight for their independence against their own governments, government sympathizers (Media and elites) against the Muslims. The problem is that most European militaries are so atrophied as to be helpless against this Muslim invasion (and political lack of will).

Knee-Jerk LEFT reflex alert...

Since WWII the term "Right-wing" has come to mean Fascist, intolerant and violent people. The Left is “balanced” while the “Right” is not.

The majority in the West embrace centrist and left ideas, philosophies and politics because it was, well, more “humane” and “civilsed” and “advanced”.

70 years later, this distorted view is killing the very believers of that concept. The peak of these phenomenon are reflected in the terms: “cultural and ethnic diversity” and “politically correct” speech and thinking. Following this idea has led to Western suicide as we are now witnessing in Europe and in many other hot spots around the world.

Our first fallacy is assuming that “they” think like us Westerners, they do not. No matter how you spin it, no matter how you justify it, the Arab/Muslim mind does not function or “feel” the way the Western mind does. In other words our needs, desires, feelings, outlook, hopes, humor, anger, sorrow and empathy is just isn't the same as them (our enemies). This does not make one Islamophobic, only it makes one wish to survive and thrive as a nation or peoples in the face of this new War. By not choosing to see them as adversary, (like President Obama) you will eventually die. Fighting this decline will not make you a bigot or a fanatic but you will express your will as a society and culture to live and thrive just as you have been doing for centuries.

Our most critical mistake of all made by the West, governments, parties and individuals is always not fully comprehending the MENYTALITY of our enemies. First recognize these scum as our enemies and say it out loud.

When we shy away from telling the turth to ourselves, this always proves fatal, for the Westerner. Assuming that these poor diddums are (and the list is long), “frustrated” “angry”, poor, unemployed, full of rage. etc. is simply inaccurate and deadly, for the Westerner.

This is called "transference" is Psychology. It means we assume the “other” thinks like we do, he does not.
we grieve for a loss in a terror attack. They pass out candy and call the dead one a martyr. Many times in the Arab-Israeli conflict, Westerners tend to say, “An Arab woman grieves for her dead child in the same way as a Jewish mother does” after all, we are all equal, right? WRONG. THERE IS NO PARITY, NO BALANCE. The Arab mother passes out sweets when her child murders a Jew and then she considers him a Martyr. This is where it all started. Organized Terror started with the Palestinians, and were codified by the PLO in 1964. Today, our politically correct terms call them the "moderate" Palestinan Authority, (PA, not PLO. The only people to bear the brunt of this new terror were the Jews of Israel, but because it was localized and against Jews, the West appeased the Arabs as they still do..The West look the other way when Jewish blood flows in the streets for a insane ideology that knows no compromise called the “Liberation of Palestine”, or todays equivalent, "Free Palestine", "Free Gaza". The most horrific atrocities have been carried out against the Israelis (including last week's Ankara bombing) and nobody cares because everyone has bought into the PLO or HAMAS or jihad narrative. It is stated that the only way to "SOLVE" (read, appease) the Islamicists is the give them what they want and then they will leave us alone.\

Now, the Chickens have come home to roost in Europe and we still, amazingly hear the same Liberal, politically correct exhortations, “ If only we in the West would see, understand and atone for our sins and deal with “their” grievances all this blood letting would stop. In other words, if ONLY ISRAEL would pull back to the Auschwitz borders of 1967 all will be fine.
Now, if ONLY Paris, Rome, New York, Sidney, Brussels, London <African cities and many more would only SUBMIT and SURRENDER, then the enemies of mankind would be sated. It never worked and never will.

The time is long overdue for the hypocritical Europeans and West to support Israel’ war on terror and accept it as their own struggle too.
End the BDS movement.
End Israel's crucifixion at the UN.
End the hypocrisy.
Start learning from the Israelis.
Start supporting them in their fight - it is our fight too.

Brussels is only the beginning. The time is ripe to define what we are seeing as an open attack on our way of life.

A phobia is an irrational fear of something. Current events, and history would suggest that fear of having your head chopped off, being shot or blown up by muslims is not irrational, therefore not a phobia.
