Ted Cruz’s campaign is finished; it died with his political suicide on March 11, 2016
The Coach's Team ^ | 3/19/16 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Last Friday night, because of threatened and actual violence from the likes of Black Lives Matter, Bernie Sanders supporters, Moveon.org, George Soros paid-for La Raza and even Bill Ayers, Donald Trump was forced to cancel his rally in Chicago.

Naturally in short order the cable networks (including Fox News) got comments from each of Trump’s opponents in the Republican primaries. When I saw Ted Cruz getting ready to speak my stomach tightened. I am a strong Trump supporter but I have a deep respect for Cruz’s intellect and quick wit. I honestly thought he would say something like “I disapprove of what Donald Trump says, but I will defend to the death his right to say it,” thereby coming off as a statesman and defender of the 1st Amendment, stealing the moment and perhaps even the following Tuesday’s primary elections.

To my immense relief and satisfaction he did not. He immediately launched into an attack on Trump that could have been made by (and to a great extend was) by Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

I was mesmerized by what I saw and enjoyed every word. I soon found myself yelling, “Go Teddie go!” as Cruz dug himself a hole and committed political suicide on national television.

The following Tuesday, Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri, Florida and the Norther Marianas voted. In Ohio John Kasich won and therein came another blow to Cruz, however veiled it was.

In Ohio and Missouri a cursory look at the voting maps shows that Democrats crossed over to vote for both Kasich and Cruz. In both states they drew their greatest support from Democrat strongholds. Nevertheless, the clear exception came in Missouri where the Trump color was (red), the area around Ferguson and St. Louis glowed bright red. In Ohio and Missouri the college-town Democrats...

How about Cruz winning the vote total over Trump? Answer not going to happen. Cruz can't even get close. Here's the totals.

Cruz is going to get even more blown out from here.

I do agree with you about that, just like RedState and others which are not “news” sources.

Many foolish people defended Cruz for siding with the Chicago thugs
by attacking Trump. Many of us warned that was a Yuge mistake.

We were right. Cruzbots were wrong.

Yup. Cruz is so finished he just opened up a massive 42% point lead over Donald Trump in Utah.
One should be so lucky.
Chortle!

If Ted Cruz’s campaign is truly finished, then why to the Trump supporters feel compelled to keep bringing up the birther stuff?

Are you suggesting Cruz can still win the nomination by traditional legitimate means by winning state primaries?

Really?

Except with only two viable candidates he will start beating Trumpn head to head. Trump only has 35% of the vote to date.

Trump has Attacked the first amendment again and again and again and again.

he told Pamela Geller she caused the attacks using assault weapons at Garland

to date— no trump supporters can explain a direct argument for saying Geller’s criticism of Islamic supremacist rhetoric earns her a deserved terrorist attack according to Trump.

You do not care!

You will keep supporting trump no matter how many contradictions are higlighted.

Where is the oh geez guy when you need him?

The first thing Cruz said was that the responsibility for the actions of the protesters belonged on the protesters.

Just because he didn't scream it out with arm waving, fist shaking DRAMA, doesn't mean he didn't say what he said.

He did not immediately launch into an attack on Trump. More Bullsh*t.

As a Chicago Rally attendee who was ambushed outside by a large mob of those thugs while leaving the auditorium, I cannot begin to express how upset I was to return home and turn on the tv to hear Cruz remarks about Trump being responsible...actually I was more upset with Cruz, Faux News, adn the GOPe than I was with the thugs.

It was outrageous that he was at a posh fundraiser in the safety of the suburbs going on about Trump. He would have had protesters had he had a free event at UIC.

I don;t think he cared one iota about the safety of rally attendees—fellow republicans, and I think the lack of condemnation of the violent protest ORGANIZERS has only emboldened them...Ex. In Chicago, they shut down the interstates and road after the rally...but in AZ, they blocked the road TO the rally.

I believe the Coach is right. Cruz could have taken the high road but for whatever reason he didn’t and no one but himself to blame.
