All I needed to know about Trump I learned in Iowa.

Trump, in a possible effort to avoid the heat from the Ethanol Lobby (which was directing vitriol already at Cruz for saying he would eliminate the 'clean fuels mandate' which requires ethanol in a large proportion of the gasoline sold in the US), said he would not only maintain but seek to increase the ethanol in fuel standard and would use the EPA to the fullest extent of the law to enforce that mandate.

I have gone on several tirades on this site about the EPA and how much damage it has done to American Industry, from Coal to oil and Gas to manufacturing to mining to electrical power generation. I have noted that 10% ethanol in gasoline gives me a 10% reduction in fuel mileage, and that being hygroscopic (water attracting) wrecks fuel systems, especially in small engines. For different reasons, my life, and the life of a family member have been placed in peril because of that crap in fuel. Even though we live in different climates and time zones.

The thing that jumped out at me, though was that under a Trump administration, not only would that mandate not be removed and ethanol fuels permitted to compete in an open marketplace, but we are going to be saddled with the EPA for the duration.

The EPA has done more damage to American industry than any agency or factor in American History. It is the biggest reason American manufacturing has fled our borders and taken jobs with it. It has reached into virtually every aspect of our lives and claims dominion over the air we breathe.

As long as they continue, America will not be Made Great Again, not as an economic power.

Right out of the gate, Trump said he'd keep THE agency which has destroyed our economy and ability to compete with manufacturing elsewhere and sent millions of jobs and trillions of dollars overseas.

He said a product would be favored by government mandate. So much for letting the market decide.

Now whether he was bargaining the ethanol mandate against not catching the Hell Cruz caught for standing up in Iowa (corn country, a state whose governor's son lobbies for the Ethanol Industry) and saying Cruz would do away with the mandate, or whether he is a 'true believer' in all this Climate Change emissions crap, either way, I don't want him for President. He sold us out on the starting line, and it won't get any better from there.
