Trump, Clinton Trouncing Rival in NY; In General Election (Trump 64%)
Emerson College Polling Society ^ | 03/17/2016

Buoyed by a string of decisive primary wins this past Tuesday, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump hold a commanding lead in New York State, where a victory in the April 19 primary could effectively seal the presidential nomination for both candidates.

With Marco Rubio out of the race, Trump leads his closest rival, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, by 52 points (64% to 12%). Rubio received 4% of the vote before suspending his campaign. Ohio Governor John Kasich earned just 1%, getting no bounce from his recent home-field victory in the Buckeye State. In a hypothetical, two-man matchup between Trump and Cruz, Trump leads 69% to 25%.

Trump could carry the Empire State in November.

Don’t laugh. On April 19th, watch and see how well he does in the blue collar counties and suburbs around New York City and upstate.

It was last won by Reagan in 1984.

So why didn’t Teddy win his home state by those kind of margins? He couldn’t even break 50% apparently.

Good question.

Trump has awesome numbers in New York.

Usually Republicans would write it off but Trump isn’t your usual Republican.

What was Ted’s % in Texas? It wasn’t 62%...that’s for sure.

If Trump holds both of those jokers under 20, it’s winner take all for him. Cue up the Cruz Bots now railing against NY and its liberal values. Well tough on them, NY is going to get Trump the nomination. If remind them that their hero Rafael got a pathetic 44% in Texas.

Thanks for posting this, GR.

I have been posting that Cruz has a snowball's chance in hell, in N.Y., for many, many, MANY months and some people laughed and/or derided me. So now, for all of them that did that to me, I am laughing my socks off at YOU posters and shall continue to do so.

All. I believe Goldstate is a Trump supporter. I could be wrong but cut him a break. I think he’s one of us.

What would the delegate count look like if Cruz didn’t win his “home state”?

Ted got 44 percent. Trump at 69 percent. Looks like trump will take all the delegate if over 50 percent. Tell me how Cruz wins this thing again?

I’m not his fan.

The truth is that if Trump wasn’t running the state would be a lock for Hillary in November.

Trump will take his home state by bigger % than Cruz took Texas.

Teddy won Texas with 46%; hardly anything special about that.

More Texans voted AGAINST Cruz, than voted for him in that primary!
