Cruz Wins Support of Former Rubio Backers in Texas

With Marco Rubio out of the race for the White House, two of his top backers in Texas are throwing their support to Ted Cruz.

State Reps. James Frank of Wichita Falls and Jason Isaac of Dripping Springs, both Republicans, said Wednesday afternoon they plan to help out in whatever way possible to help elect Cruz, Texas' junior U.S. senator.

"I’m definitely planning on backing Sen. Cruz at this point," Frank said. "I think honestly both Rubio and Cruz are very similar on the vast majority of issues."

“I think honestly both Rubio and Cruz are very similar on the vast majority of issues.”

Unfortunately, that’s true, but as far as votes, too little too late for Teddy. Trump will win nomination no matter how many dirty tricks the GOPe/Cruz try to play. The GOP does not need to worry about winning Texas in the general.

I guess they’ll either have to jump into a time machine or illegally vote in another state now.

Hey, Cruzers will take what meager good news they can get.

This hardly qualifies as a dirty trick.

I swear, the first 10 posts of any Trump or Cruz thread on FR gives me at least 5 inclinations to vote against Trump in the general.

Do you FRumpsters ever give any thought to getting more Republican votes in the general than they ones you’ve picked up in the primary?

Why didn’t they back him from the beginning?

A good question for Nikki Haley too.

Nikki Haley backs Ted Cruz

Why didn’t they back him from the beginning?

Because it isn't a binary decision, or at least shouldn't be.

So many people on this site think that once you have made your decision of who to support then all other candidates must become anathema.

To use myself as an example, at the beginning of the campaign, my top candidates in order were:

1) Cruz
2) Walker
3) Jindal
4) Santorum
5) Carson

If Cruz had dropped out before Jindal, would you ask "Why didn't you back Jindal from the beginning?"

If you had asked that, my answer would be "because Cruz was above him on the list of candidates I preferred."

Hell no, they'll continue acting like jerks, offending man & beast all the way to November. After all, 35-40% of the republican primary voting community have enough p*ss to push Donald of Orange over the line in a general election. Don't they?

Not if they're establishment which includes Cruz now for sure.

Cruz: Why Yes, Denying Trump the Nomination at a Contested Convention Would be Legitimate

The establishment will never have the people's interest at heart, they're in the cabal and will follow their marching orders to stop the people.no matter where it leads.

Man! Thanks - I’ve been making the point to those idol worshipers that they are being perceived as a reflection of the idol they worship at which reflects badly on their hero.

Worse it makes, as you said, many of us just want nothing to do with DJT, despite whatever good points he may possess - they are single-handedly destroying the candidacy of the man they purport to support.

Another thought which has occurred to me and others is that despite long standing on FR some or all of the most rabid ones are Dem plants, which if they are not, they may as well be.

But he’s a Texan and Texans, as I’ve learned to my detriment, tend to stick together. No matter how terrible the candidate.

It’s the Cuba/Canada/Texas Axis in action. Otherwise known as the “Foreign Tick Turd Revolution.”

Not to worry, it’s just the MN weather. Pretty soon your brain will un-freeze and you’ll have to start mosqjuito repellant therapy.
