Hartford Tea Party co-founder endorses Ted Cruz and denounces Donald Trump.

Hartford Tea Party co-founder endorses Ted Cruz and denounces Donald Trump.

As one of the co-founders of the Hartford Tea Party in 2009, I was appalled to read the statement of Debbie Dooley, claiming that Donald Trump was the choice of someone who once claimed membership in a genuine grass roots organization dedicated to upholding the Constitution, reducing the size of government, eliminating government health care and opposing high government spending.

In her endorsement for Donald Trump, she claimed the following:"I have been an activist fighting for conservative principles since 1976, so I reject individuals and publications that try to tell me what conservatism is. I have watched over the years as we have allowed deep pocketed special interests to set the agenda in Washington D.C. instead of we the people. These special interests gain support for their agenda, by even principled conservatives, using their millions of dollars of political contributions."

Does a principled conservative need to go any further than this to see this is either one of the most ill informed persons regarding Donald Trump or someone who is willfully blind as to what is going on here?

Her claim to decry deep pocket special interests rings hollow since Donald Trump himself has boasted that he freely donates to political persons for the purpose of getting what he wants, and if that is not a deep pocket, I dont know who is. Trump himself says, '“You know what? When I need something from them, two years later, three years later, I call them, and they are there for me. . . . And that’s a broken system.”

Deep pockets Debbie? How deep do we need to go? Donald Trump has been holding his pockets open for democrats, liberals and rinos his entire adult life and never once donated to a Tea Party candidate, in fact, he funded the liberal Democrat against the Tea Party choice of Sharon Angle to fund ultra leftist Harry Reid.

Donald Trump has recently released an ad on radio announcing his support for government funded health care, has in his speeches supported single payer health care, and has always in the past, defended Obama' health care program. Well, Debbie, the health care debacle is one of the main reasons that the Tea Party took off with such vigor, and now you defend the same government control of Americans?? On what planet is that considered freedom? That is the action of a tyranny, and Donald Trump just repeatedly said he is all for it; single payer, replacing Obama's health care with something different; replacing Obama care with a different form of government health care is NOT freedom, it is just another form of government control over our health care!

Throwing her name and reputation as a Tea Party co-founder to support one of the most opposing forces of the Tea Party is absurd! She claims to believe in liberty and freedom, and then endorses one of the deep pockets who has made it his political choice to support all the left wing democrats and rinos.

Trump donated to Charlie Rangel, John McCain, and the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee. Liberty defenders, Debbie? How about Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and Chuck Schumer, and even "Fast Eddie' Rendell?

People who love liberty and our Constitution know better than to associate any of those names to freedom or liberty.

If Debbie Dooley was actually concerned with supporting the Constitution, only Ted Cruise was the candidate this election cycle that had the highest Liberty rating that is in the race now at the time of her endorsement. Only Ted Cruz kept his word regarding upholding the Constitution, fought against the liberal Gang of Eight whom Donald Trump supported; only Ted Cruz fought against TPP to control the trade deficit while Trump wants to keep it.

If Debbie Dooley actually cared about the Constitution, she surely would not have endorsed someone who donated thousands of dollars to Rod Blagojevich, Rahm Emanuel and Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. If she thinks that supporting such anti-American politicians represents liberty, she needs a new dictionary.

most of you KNOW Canada is duel citizenship country

Does that mean they fight it out with swords, or pistols at 20 paces?

his US citizenship was and is just a valid.

Yeah, but a "just barely" citizen isn't good enough. Eligibility needs two US citizen parents, born in US, US territory, or in service of the US. (military base etc)

you say: “I think Trump is our best shot at breaking the stranglehold of The Cheap Labor Express on the GOP.”

So, is he going to close down his clothing manufacturing in Mexico, China and Bangladesh?

Is he going to stop bringing in cheap labor on the the shady visa deal?

Is he going to stop banging the rich Chinese to give millions - GIVE - to his projects - who then get PERMANENT visa standing in return?

When asked - he brushed it off with an illusion to his son taking over the businesses while he’s in office - and therefore - it will up to his son.

IOW - business as usual.

Yeah. You put that fox in the hen house. All will be well.

Donald whines he HAS to ship his manufacturing overseas because it cost too much to have made in the USA.
NOTE: Letterman has a clothing co - and all is made in the USA

He has spent 40 years doing business this way - but you all think he’ll change his spots.

Why?

becasue he says so -

Sounds like the Hartford Tea Party, doesn’t have a very good horse in this race. But I did hear Kasich insinuate he was going to be president a few minutes ago...Tea Party mission accomplished.

The entire rank and file of the original Tea Party members are still very much around, very much active, and as I tell my less politically active Friend's Do not believe anyone who falsely claims to “lead” the Official Tea Party!

The whole point was to get back to elected representative civilian government, and diminish the power of the “professional political class”,the partisan Union Bosses, who are highly vested in the league, and pretend to be on opposing teams, to the detriment of ALL the citizens of this nation.

“The entire rank and file”

I beg to differ ma’am , at least not where I am .
Most folks dissolved back into there homes ( and sofas)
They parked their flags , they can’t seem to be bothered
to get out there with boots on anymore . I think the stinking ‘occupy movement ‘ ( aka Bernie Sanders for Prez) affected a lot of people . Occupy copied much of the TP’s modus operadi and even ‘occupied’ former TP rally spots , so now days the remaining TP’er’s don’t want to be perceived in the same light as the Occupy morons . TP came out first , and then Occupy went and crapped on the same good ground . It’s time to get over that ; locate old boots and nice new flags and get back to the work of restoring our country from these communist/anarchist pricks .

Summed up Perfectly!
We are losing The last Chance to save our country while we can still legally March on DC.
The NDAA 2011 permits indefinite detention without due process of any citizen found “beligerent” toward government.
Of 1% of our nation’s 322 Million showed up in reoccurring Protest, we could affect change.
Our apathy disgrace the Million American men who gave their lives in war to preserve our freedoms.

Leo Windhorse:

The following is not meant to describe you as attacking RaceBannon. as I do not know the situation in your state for Tea Party, others do not know its situation in Connecticut. I know RaceBannon ansd other Tea Paerty leaders in Connecticut and their boots are still on the ground but Connecticut is a hard leftist nut to crack.

To everyone:

RaceBannon is a friend of mine for at least 25 years and was a client when I was in Connecticut. He has paid his dues and then some. His boots never left the ground.

RaceBannon was a valuable player in carrying on an anti-state income tax demonstration in 1991 that was the largest political demonstration in Connecticut history, involving conservatives, of course, but also Teamsters, Postal Workers and the United Food and Commercial Workers' Union that paid for the sound system, shutting down the entire state capitol vicinity and filling lawns and streets with 60,000+ people when that despicable POS former governor Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. (whose picture appears in dictionaries next to "leftist scumbag") bullied, bribed and bought his way to a state income tax to punish those of us who took away his pet US Senate seat in 1988 after three awful terms.

IIRC, RaceBannon was part of the successful effort to perform a Weickerectomy on the US Senate and to force Weicker to flee Connecticut for the Virgin Islands at the end of his only gubernatorial term. Incidentally, Weicker was relieving his fellow trust fund babies of most of the taxes on investments and shifting the tax burden to the kids flipping burgers at MickeyD's.

RaceBannon was also part of the volunteer security team protecting a flatbed from which Connecticut conservative leader Tom Scott was running a demonstration outside Joe Lieberman's residence on one of the most exquisitely fashionable and exquisitely liberal neighborhoods (Alston Avenue) in New Haven.

When you don't know RaceBannon and his history but only meet him on the internet, it is easy enough to attack him for not supporting this year's secular "messiah" just as it is easy for that "messiah's" disciples to relentlessly attack candidates with an actual CONSERVATIVE track record like Ted Cruz or even Marco Rubio. RaceBannon is a quite dedicated Christian and knows only one Messiah, the actual One.

RaceBannon is a great guy, a great conservative and he has given continually of his time and of his talent and of his passion and bled for the conservative cause. The toxic atmosphere of this campaign in which fine and decent men like RaceBannon are attacked by folks who are themselves conservative is something that is going to take a long time to heal.

Ironically, RaceBannon probably (I have not seen him since I moved to Illinois) agrees with Trump supporters on the issues that are positives in Trump's quiver. BUT, that doesn't matter since he supports Cruz as do I and as do many other CONSERVATIVES here. So suddenly, we Cruz supporters are all brain dead Establishment marionettes for not supporting the Manhattan messiah.

nope , I was not referring to any individual here on FR , just relating long term direct observations on our own wing of TP activism beginning and since 2009 , until this present time . Being also on many national TP organizations mailing lists I can more-or-less monitor what they are doing and what their issues are .
To my knowledge NONE are suggesting that WE put our boots on and hit the streets again . Which is exactly what MoveOn.org.s latest version of Occupy assholes are doing . If we do not counter them we surrender the ground to them .

This.

Every day, week, month, year, that progressives have mass protests and we don't, we lose. Visibility is priceless. It alters the national conversation.

And this isn't something that conservatives have to wait on someone else to initiate, we can do it on our own, as we did just a few short years ago. Whatever the reasons, the willpower to go protest is gone.

It's heartbreaking.

I am afraid that trump is not even a bipartisan. I am afraid that he is The wolf in sheep’s clothing; a Trojan horse to break up the Republican party and get hitlery elected.

If he gets the nomination, he will “negotiate” every promise down to the lib level. Ya know, he makes “deals.” He SAYS a lot of things that conservatives want to hear, but will he live up to it or will he “negotiate” every promise down to the lib level?

If he doesn’t get the nomination, then he will simply pull ross perot and still get his friend and her husband get in the White House. Either way, his side wins.

This is a sad day.

Like most Cruz supporters you exaggerate way beyond what is reasonable...you are generalizing about what Trump supporters think about you Cruz supporters.

Other than that I just want to say, you must be a good friend to RaceBannon...I admire your loyalty.

God bless you RaceBannon. You’re a patriot. I pray the Trump supporters here don’t have to kick their own rears some day because America has elected a man who was a liberal for 15-40 years — and now for the past 4 months has been a conservative.

These people have been SO NASTY AND VENOMOUS to Cruz supporters. I wish one of them could explain to us WHY TRUMP MET WITH BJ CLINTON before he decided to run. What did they talk about? What deals did they cut? Why we do have to have a presidential race between two NY liberals? What a crock!!!!!!!!!

I may not even be a U.S. citizen. You’re a typical Trump supporter — full of baloney. My wife was born in Brazil to U.S. parents who were missionaries — SO SHE ISN’T A U.S. CITZEN. You’re laughable. She’s a natural born U.S citizen; she sure wasn’t naturalized.
