Showboating Obama brushes off Reagan funeral snub criticism to congratulate himself on steering America away from GREAT DEPRESSION during SXSW festival talk
An ebullient Barack Obama sure sounded pleased with himself at SXSW festival on Friday – despite enduring a week of criticism for prioritizing the event over Nancy Reagan’s funeral.
The President was the surprise keynote speaker at this year's Austin festival and talked about civic engagement with the editor-in-chief of The Texas Tribune.
During the speech he bragged about keeping employment below five per cent and congratulated himself for the recent improvement in the country's job figures.
'Because of me we avoided a great depression. Thanks, Obama,' he joked to roaring laughter.

It’s hard to see depression when you’re nested within the confines of a fine home (turned into an opulent public housing crib); throw lavish dinners, parties and events, fly around in your own 747; have dozens of armed guards protecting you and you get to go anywhere in the world for vacays like they’re popcorn. It’s good to be king.

Word on the street is that he’s in town to jump his motorcycle over a tank filled with hungry, man-eating sharks!

BTW, economists have traditionally said 5% or lower was full employment. Does anybody see anything like full employment.

Well, guess what? He lied and never took the pay cut.

He mired us in the Second Great Depression. He is trying to leave the system so structured that his successor will be stymied in any efforts to roll back regulation and taxes. He is leaving the EPA and the other agencies in charge. They cannot be dealt with by constitutional methods.

The most obvious indication that the unemployment figures are a lie is the stagnant wages; low unemployment drives up wages, and as Trump says, most Americans haven’t had a real raise in years.
If there was low unemployment then $15 per hour would arrive naturally.
He didn’t cause this (in fact, it helped him get elected), but he certainly is making it worse. These nonsense news stories about the recession ending must be spewed by people who haven’t visited the northeast in decades. NY and NJ are dying; there was never any recovery here.
We’ve had less than 3% growth each year of his presidency and he’s spiking the football?
Explain the nearly 100 million working-age Americans out of work...

If memory serves me correctly, the Beatles sang a song about Obama years ago, the Fool on the Hill. A fool is above all arrogant and full of self love totally unable to see what the true situation is.
