There are quite a few rumors floating around in social media about Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz.

Americans are used to the mainstream media lying about Ted Cruz (see here, here & here for just some examples.) But it is particularly painful when the lies come from supposed truth-tellers. The largest culprits starting and perpetuating anti-Cruz falsehoods are sundance of the Conservative Treehouse and Dianne Marshall of the Marshall Report. They blatantly lie, or tell cherry-picked half truths, which are promptly disseminated in social media by an army of bullies who are seemingly not interested in civil debate.

Why create false stories if the candidate is so bad?

The clearly coordinated effort is particularly disturbing because: 1.) it frankly smashes conventional wisdom that ad hominem baseless attacks are the tool of the left – not the principled right, and 2.) the social media bullies may serve to intimidate people from posting positive stories or opinions about Ted Cruz.

Professor Jack Balkin of Yale Law School, however, said the fuzzy definition of “natural born citizen” was clarified under U.S. immigration law in 1970, which held that Cruz “automatically became an American because his mother was one. The law grants birthright citizenship to a child born overseas if one parent is a U.S. citizen.”

A natural born citizen needs no clarification by Immigration law or any other clarification. It merely clarifies him as a citizen.

They forgot to include FR in their list of sources. This place gets like a convention of assassins at times. No dissent tolerated, violators must be destroyed. But it is the same 10-12 people all the time trying to shut everyone else up.

Think about it, Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin are now the enemy, and Sundance and Camile Paglia on Salon are righteous icons. What the hell is happening here?

The Trump campaign has mastered the tactic of defining the opponent before that person can define themselves.

At some point early on they decided that Cruz's strength was his integrity, so they were going to go after it. Because Trup is a celebrity he got plenty of air time to deliver his message.

Dishonest, yes, but thats politics. I expected liberals to swallow the line but whats surprising is how many here have bought it as well.

14th Amendment to the United States Constitution...

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United states and the of the State wherein they reside.

Did Ted Cruz's parents reside (have permanent residence) in one of the States of the United States when Ted was born? NO!

Was Cruz born “IN” the United States? NO!

Was Cruz subject to the jurisdiction of the United States at birth? NO!

Therefore, Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen, at his birth, he met NONE of the above Constitutional requirements of birth right citizenship. Ted Cruz is an Article 1, Section 8 naturalized citizen per Rogers v. Bellei, 401 U.S. 815 (1971). Only after the child was brought to the US from Canada and the child remained a permanent resident in the US for the required amount of years, was the child's US citizenship perfected. See the Immigration & Naturalization Acts of 1952 & 1965 respectively for the details of Ted Cruz's naturalization process.

1952 Statute governing 1401, definitions:

(23) The term “naturalization” means the conferring of nationality of a state upon a person after birth, by any means whatsoever.

(27) The term “nonquota immigrant” means— (A) an immigrant who is the child or the spouse of a citizen of the United States

Cruz made one mistake when he called Trump supporters "low-information". They are not low information, they are "Trump-information". Trump epitomizes the half-truth, not whole truth information source. The Trump supporters then lap it up like the Word of God.

Trump almost nailed it when he said "I could shoot someone on live TV and my supporters wouldn't abandon me." What he really should have said is "I could shoot someone on live TV and then deny it, and my supporters would say it didn't happen."

If your citizenship is the product of a congressional statute, you are not natural born. Cruz was born a citizen, but not naturally born a citizen. So, no.
