Yeah and definition of conservative changes. A lot of traditionally conservative views are now mocked by “conservatives” as populist, isolationist, etc.

I don’t care what it’s called I want secure borders, good fiscal and trade policy, and Islamic threat defeated.

Exactly, build the wall already. It doesn't take a long list. It isn't even about what they really really believe anymore, we can't extrapolate what someone is going to do from that. We care about what they really really are going to do, and not do. Kind of a Presidential Compact of sorts.

The term ‘conservative’ is meaningless to the DC/media complex anymore. They are all a bunch of money grubbing, backstabbing thieves that wrap themselves in the shroud of ‘conservatism’ when the reality is that none of them are really conservative. They are all using their career positions in government to enrich themselves while implementing a soft tyranny on the little guy that continues to believe that they have good intentions this worthy of another term, a promotion and/or more campaign funds.

All this talk about Trump and the H1-B is a red herring.

The fact is that he has made (to his detriment in the media. See Cokie Roberts question) protecting the border and enforcing immigration laws a priority of his candidacy.

No one else is doing that. GW BUsh was open borders- Obama was open borders- Even if he is not 100 percent successful in stopping this problem I am willing to give him a chance.

It’s sad. He was “not going to let Donald Trump blah blah blah” to crushing crowds just two weeks ago. This is exactly what happened to Christie when he attacked Rubio. The only one that gets a pass is Trump because he owns it, and Cruz to an extent. I think it was the comedy routine that did Little Marco in. Yes, it dinged Trump, but did Rubio in for good. He shouldn’t have taken Romney’s advice for sure.

Trump never did this:

On June 14, 1967, Ronald Reagan signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act, after only six months as California governor. From a total of 518 legal abortions in California in 1967, the number of abortions would soar to an annual average of 100,000 in the remaining years of Reagan’s two terms

“The fact that you think the Establishment wants Cruz is delusional as to be ignored.”

The fact is that the GOPe is starting to rally around Ted as the best chance to stop Trump. GOPe types are coming on board Ted’s campaign. Ted is slowly but surely slipping into the arms of the GOPe.

History doesn't play well with Trump supporters, I get it.

Reagan didn't promote abortion nor was abortion the hot button topic in 1967 that is has become since Roe v. Wade. Reagan had no true stance on it because of the number that you cited, it was not prevalent in society at that time.

That bill was destined to be passed by the CA legislature despite Reagan's veto. He signed it with the hopes of watering it down.

Self admittedly, a mistake in his lifetime that when he found out the consequences, immediately took up the mantle of life and promoted it for the rest of his days. It wasn't a political tool for him so he could increase his Conservative creds like Trump is doing.

Reagan was never pro-abortion like Trump was......Trump even went so far as to say he wouldn't shoot down partial birth abortion even if he didn't agree with it. What type of person who wants to be considered pro life takes that stance?

Any comparison to Reagan to validate your boy's continual move from right to middle to left back to right is pure folly.

The fact that you would soil Reagan's reputation to attempt to validate Trump shows a tremendous lack of candor.

Trump is not to be compared with Reagan on any level for any reason. I'm sure that won't stop you though.

It is truly amazing that when Trump says out loud “I've changed my mind on Hb-1” you ignore it and start to bring up Bush and Obama.

We must be on 5th Ave. already.

Trade policy - the only thing Trump has offered are tariffs. They have never worked in a post-industrialzed world

There were 100% tariffs on some Japanese electronics during the Reagan administration. I recall the economy did pretty well back then.

Where was he on the Obamacare fight? Where was he on the Gang of Eight fight? Where was he during the 1994 Contract with America?

He wasn't a politician, that's where he was. I know it drives Cruz and Rubio and Kasich and political pundits for that matter, crazy, because they're so used to citing a politician's record. They can't handle a citizen running for president. They're reduced to easter egg scandal hunts. While 'gentlemen' were arguing and getting nothing accomplished, as usual, Trump was creating jobs and building buildings that generate a lot of property taxes. As for donating, Trump was donating to Reps as far back as the 80's when Rubio and Cruz were barely in grade school - he's donated to Reagan and to GHW Bush. He's donated twice as much to Rep candidates as Dems. And I'd bet he's raised more money independently for vets than most of Congress combined. How much have the other candidates fundraised for charity in their short political careers? How many jobs have they created? I'm pretty sure I'm hearing crickets.

I watched Trump on Hannity. Most memorable thing he said was he supported the penny plan to balance the budget. Then he said he wouldn’t cut entitlements and he would increase the military. Well that’s about 75 % of the budget.

Every night he says something completely nonsensical, and people seem to just ignore it. He has something that people see that I don’t see I guess.

He said a poll came out showing him beating Hillary today. I saw two new polls today matching them up. One showed Hillary up 13 the other up 9. Again, who cares, he just says anything he wants, and people just nod along. Was there such a poll I didn’t see? Does he just make it up and shrug? What’s with this guy and how do people just not hear the nonsense he spews?

Turn the clock back to 1991 and g h w bush running for re-election. That’s where I go to remember what conservatism is and isnt. Buchanan was one GHWB wasnt. Nowadays the term is so convoluted no one even knows what it means anymore.

” Trump tell us how terrible the system is when he took full advantage of it not to better the country, but himself.”

The ONLY thing Trump had as an outsider was the ability to TRY and change what he and every other businessman saw as an impediment to expanding business and hiring more people to expand the business, to hire more people, to expand the business. Sure his bottom line grows every time the business grows, but he also knows he cannot do it alone and knows it takes people to hire to do the work of business. What you obviously are missing is that he takes all the risk.

As we have seen with greater clarity is that nothing moves in DC or the state level as well, without the crony politicians demanding payola to move anything along. When was the last time you got ANYTHING through any legislative body by simply writing a letter or making a phone call. Right, NEVER.

Trump had the wherewithal to be able to TRY to move these bassturds in the only shove they recognize. Sure it is distasteful, but it is the politicians who control the system. Trump also got tired of even contributions not moving anything forward that he threw up his hands and decided to try and change the corrupt system by running.

It is as simple as that. He donated to try and move the legislative process so he could make more money, sure, but as each was able to grow, so did the employee base. That Sir is simple basic Reaganomics. Trump did not donate for partial birth abortion as you try to disingenuously imply because it for some reason makes your choice look better.

So, tell us, do you still beat your wife?

There is so waste in govt. You cut out the fat, as you would in any successful business, increase business, and you will have more than enough for our Social Sec, vets military etc.

In short, people like Trump, because for once in our life time we have a private enterprise, successful business guy in charge, not these political hacks.

We can all agree on this, right?

Trump, might seem ideal to everyone, or maybe not even palatable to people, like you. But please, vote for him, even if you have to hold your nose...we cannot sit this one out. We cannot let the dems in there ever again.

To much at stake.
