Presidential hopeful Marco Rubio is downplaying his perfomance in the four states that held GOP caucuses or primaries on Saturday, saying that he had had long known “this would be the roughest period of the campaign.”
Speaking primarily in Spanish at a press conference in Puerto Rico, where voters will head to the polls on Sunday, the Florida senator noted that the contests in Kansas, Maine, Kentucky and Louisiana are proportional, saying he’ll leave them with more delegates than he started with.
Rubio is eyeing his home state, which will vote on March 15, as the turning point for his campaign. There are 99 delegates up for grabs in that winner-take-all contest, although front-runner Donald Trump leads in the polls.
Rubes, time to hang it up and return to the Senate.

Kasich is my governor. I’ll be curious to see how he does in Ohio. Even if he wins here, I think he’s probably done after that. but who knows?

After this string of poor finishes today, I would think that even his supporters can see the writing on the wall. I expect that they’re going to start jumping ship very soon and may even be lucky to finish third in his home state. He’s done.

There is a slim to none chance Kasich can win the nomination and it looks like Slim left tonight.
Rubo has little to no chance as well.
Hope Florida ends Rube’s participation in this thing. He’s long overstayed his welcome. There should be some fresh polls out soon on FL. Will show if the anti-Trump, pro-Rubio PAC media spending has had any effect.

Really a bad night for Rubio, especially after the big GOP Inc push for him in the last ten days.
