Former Bears coach Mike Ditka, who has repeatedly voiced his support for Donald Trump to the Chicago Sun-Times, blasted President Obama during a radio appearance Thursday.
"Obama is the worst president we've ever had," Ditka told hosts Sid Rosenberg and Bernard McGuirk during an appearance on their morning show on WABC-AM in New York.
Ditka, who guided the 1985 Bears to a Super Bowl victory, questioned Obamas skills as a leader.
"Barack Obama's a fine man. I mean, he's pleasant," Ditka said. "He would be great to play golf with. He's not a leader. This country needs leadership. It needs direction. It needs somebody that steps up front. We need somebody like Ronald Reagan.
"Every once in a while you're going to get punched in the chops. But you keep going forward. That's all there is to it," he added. "You know it's not always going to be a perfect situation, but to do what he does, there's no leadership there. I think that becomes very disgusting to me."
Ditka also took shots at Democratic-favorite Hillary Clinton. When the show's hosts played a clip of Clinton declaring Republicans want to take America back to the "Jim Crow past," a disgusted Ditka said that "filthy statement" could make you "throw up."
"If I were to vote tomorrow," Ditka said, "I'd probably vote for Trump."
LV odds Ditka will be suspended by ESPN?
His fault. Should have run against him for Senate.
Firt off Mike...Obama is not a “fine man”. He’s a damn disaster!
Ditka had the chance for the Republican nomination to run against him for Senate. It would have been a cool race. He decided against after mulling it over. I gave money to Keyes, who ran a poor campaign. It is the GOP-E that kicked Peter Fitzgerald out of the Senate providing Obama with his opening.
As a Packer fan I have always loved Ditka, Butkis, and others... but Da Bears? Not so much.
yes ‘Coach’...how else could the first Marxist president be classified?
Ahhh Mike...you could have saved us all from so much misery!
It’s good to see these professional ball players and coaches take a stand. They have every bit of skin in the game as we do.
Mike Ditka’s a true American; one that our young ‘uns would do well to emulate.
Wish he was a GBPacker...
Agree....he coulda been a contender :(
His house is still called "The Ditka House."
If Ditka ran against him, Obama would still be a low-level IL Senator sucking up to Jesse Jackson.
I hope Ditka has met with his CPA, and gone through his tax returns, and that everything is in good order. He’s a prime target for an IRS audit now.
I wish I were joking but in the era of Obama, this is how decisions are made.
And off topic, but why is it that Al Sharpton owes millions in back taxes but is apparently not in any legal trouble over that issue?? Again, I think it’s due to who has power and influence. Sharpton is such pals with Obama, that I’m sure behind the scenes, the IRS is handling Sharpton’s case much differently than it would handle you or I if we owed back taxes.
A Chicago God. Obama may want to put some ice on that.
He just retired from the world of sports casting.
An all-time great Yinzer telling it like it is.
I love to hear sports ppl slam obama. Especially coming from Chi-town.
It’s easy to see what Mike understands, liberals have to make an enemy to win, because without the straw man, they have no fight. Sadly liberals are so full of hate and anger they can’t see they’re getting played like fools.
If Ditka ran for president, it wouldn’t be if he would win, but how many times. We’re talking minimum 8-peat.
Gee, I wonder if he thinks Bruce Jenner is a hero?
